Essentially yes. And unless station sponsors start feeling pain of customers avoiding them and said sponsors start pulling ads and the station loses ad revenue nothing will happen to KK.

We can gnash our teeth and shake our fists but unless there's a hit in the station's ad revenue only two things will happen; jack & s**t.

Here's just a couple examples. He also was sued for trying to coerce his racing partner and his wife into group sex, makes his employees take RW indoctrination classes, and threatens managers with a 60% pay cut if their store unionizes.

Managers are prohibited from building a home, even if they purchase the construction materials elsewhere. It’s a measure to prevent employee theft, John Menard once told the media. The penalty is termination.

Even minor building projects concerned him. On numerous occasions, former managers say, Menard hired private investigators to take photos when an employee added a deck or addition, then had internal examiners cross-reference the materials in the photos with items the employee had purchased, looking for products that had been stolen.

The most infamous casualty of this policy was Eldon Helget, a lumber yard manager for Menards’ Burnsville, Minn., store. Helget’s daughter was confined to a wheelchair and the narrow hallways in the Helget home made it difficult to get around. She was getting too big for her mother Linda to carry her up the stairs, and because the bathroom couldn’t accommodate her wheelchair, the girl had no privacy. When the Helgets could find no home that met their needs, they decided to build from scratch.

But Helget’s boss, Larry Menard, said there were no exceptions to the company rule. Helget, who had a stellar 13-year record with the company, could resign his post and take a lower-level job, Larry said. That meant a $15,000 cut in his $40,000 salary, but Helget still agreed.

The Helgets hired a contractor to build a ramp-equipped home, using building materials from another company. When John Menard heard about the deal, he fired Helget. The company notified Helget that if he ever showed up on its property again, he’d be arrested for trespassing.

George Meyer, a former secretary of natural resources under Republican Gov. Tommy Thompson, said he had intense confrontations with Menard during the late 1990s over state environmental laws. In one instance, he said, state officials caught the billionaire store owner on videotape personally dumping arsenic-laden hazardous waste ashes from one of his lumber plants in a state landfill.

“I swear to God, he would have his employees bag up [the ashes] in plastic bags, and he would take them home and put them in his personal garbage,” said Meyer, who is now executive director of the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation. “They were going to a regular landfill, not to a hazardous waste facility. We were trying to get the attorney general to file criminal charges. If it had been you or me, it would have happened, but it didn’t to John Menard.”

Instead, Menard and his company settled and agreed to pay the $1.7 million civil fine, then a record in Wisconsin. But during meetings he had with Menard, Meyer said, the hardware baron made no secret of his views on environmental enforcement. “He told me he just didn’t believe in environmental regulations,” said Meyer. “He was upfront about it.”

It’s fairly well known that the Menards owner is a complete POS. That said, I shop there as it’s the closest home improvement store.

My only issue with going after sponsors is the mom and pop owned businesses.
Myself being a small business owner I might spend my whole advertising budget for the year on a certain platform (I dont but ) and I wouldn't have anywhere else to go.
It wouldn't mean I support that station and I'd pull my advertising asap....
Going after the corporations would make the impact.

Unfortunately, that's the way it is.

If you shopped at a store and you knew that between the hours of 2:00-6:00 that people were going to be treated like dog shit, how often would you frequent that place? Furthermore, you're going to think poorly of that entire business (and management) because of that one employee.

Kind of, but to be fair, i'm kind of the opposite and it's a little more of a unique situation.

I knew he was a piece of shit before all this. I like the other guys.
