Alex Smith is a damn good QB

Just look at some of the numbers around the league today. We're lucky to have him as our QB.

No... we don't. We think he is part of the reason for your teams success. All you dumb ass fans think absolutely anyone can do what he is doing without realizing if that were true:

- more QB's would do it.
- Reid wouldn't have wanted to trade for Smith multiple times over his career
- The Chiefs wouldn't have given up 2 2nds for him
- He would not have been selected to the probowl
- The Chiefs wouldn't have rewarded him with a great big extension

Alex Smith is one of the best in the league at pre snap reads. He has been since his first year with Harbaugh.

It is extremely underrated how little ego Alex Smith has to check down, or switch to a running play for the good of the team. He is the ultimate team player.

I get it, people want their qb to have some cowboy in them. Alex kind of lacks that. He would rather let jamaal, dat, kelce make the plays.

It's not sportscenter, or fantasy worthy, but it wins.

I must really be missing something that screams one QB is so much better than the other.... even though the teams are within 7 total yards per game of each other, one game in the standings, and the obviously inferior QB has accounted for almost 400 more yards total and has almost identical passing stats.

wr's? swing pass that goes to the house? these stats don't show the individualness of each play and game.

it's funny how we think that success isnt riddled with miscues along with execution.

It's why we pounded the Pats THAT day, but have a 50/50 chance of winning in a subsequent game.

i think nowadays fans have been manipulated by the NFL, ESPN etc and have over elevated the QB...the main reason for big passing yards is rule changes that protect the QB, and cripple the DB's..

EVERY WEEK, WR's push off, and get away with it...

I'm assuming this is between Smith and Kap? I don't much care to get into who's better than who. Just a pointless argument to me, but if you look at the situation they are in...

WR1 - Advantage Niners
WR2 - Advantage Niners
WR3 - Advantage Niners
TE - Advantage Niners (Kelce is good but Vernon is a beast blocking and receiving - Kap just doesn't use him)
Running backs - Advantage Chiefs (although isn't not like Gore and Hyde are slouches back there)
Offensive line - Advantage Niners

One QB has hit his ceiling...the other is just rising from his floor. That is the difference.

Kaepernick always said Colin's floor was Alex's ceiling...and that is the truth.

Kap's been sacked 8 more times behind a better offensive line despite supposedly being the better athlete.

Kap just has that penchant for doing something so ridiculously stupid that costs your team the game. Like his fumble on the goal line on the last play of the game to try to win against the Rams, who we bitchslapped all over the field.

Instead of staying patient and driving down the field, hes a guy that will rocket the ball as hard as he can into double coverage for an interception. Sure, he's going to make some big "ooohhh aaaahhh" throws, but he's also going to toss some turnovers up there that make you tear out your hair and **** your team out of the game.

Those guys are damn lucky to be 4-4 at this point. If Andy Reid hadn't giftwrapped and handed our game over to them on a platter, these guys are 3-5 and spiraling down the shitter.

Or straight jack the DB in the facemask to knock him off the coverage and get open for an easy td. How that wasn't called against Stevie Johnson when he did that to Cooper in the 49ers game is beyond me.

Reprehensible officiating in that game.

I know you were saying this sarcastically, but it's true none the less. Pre-snap reads, knowledge of offensive schemes, defensive schemes, experience, etc. etc.

Hands to the face is a penalty there, junior. Now, I know they don't call that on the Madden games, but you cant touch the facemask AT ALL in the real game.

Not on the LOS, Not within 5 yards of the LOS, not 50 yards down the ****ing field.

You cant put your hands to the ****ing facemask of a defender, or offensive player, EVER.
