The Cap isn't as healthy in 2016 as you think it is.

Look at it in relation to the rest of the league - our 2016 cap surplus is still in the bottom half of the NFL and that was without the dead money from Hali and the inevitable dead money from Bowe (which could be as much as $6 million). And that figure has about 10 starters in place and that's probably being generous - there's no figure for Poe, no safeties, only 1 CB, no OLBs, no ILBs, no WRs....pretty much nothing. That $80 million in cap space will need to cover 10 starters plus a handful of raises to guys presently on the roster. With mediocre players getting $4 million/season in this market, it's not going to go very far.

Additionally, there are very few outs in that roster - not a lot of guys to restructure or walk away from. There are a few guys that will save you 3-4 million (guys like Colquitt) but for the most part, the roster is already pretty lean next year and it will have some substantial dead money on it.

Don't get too excited just yet.
