it's experimental. the entire concept of post-rock is less-is-more.

you should check out some artists like Balmorhea, The Calm Blue Sea, And So I Watch You From Afar, Caspian, My Education, Maserati, Red Sparowes. They have more creative structures.

who did you see live that was boring? I have seen a lot of post rock bands and only Mono and Explosions In The Sky bored me.

Anyway, Bells appears to be the miscellaneous Animal of 2010. (have I already said this on here? I know I tweeted it). I like Sleigh Bells, though.

Hmmmm.... I don't see it (the comparison between them and MIA that is). I honestly don't spend enough time in the mall to know how much MIA is played. I don't think that MIA was, in any way, created by the mall culture, though. Quite the opposite, in fact, since she's a ****ing marxist, albeit of questionable authenticity.

anyway, you shouldn't have to spend hardly anytime at the mall a few years ago to hear MIA a billion times. It was on in every store, probably on a loop.

I think I could tolerate Sleigh Bells a lil bit more if their album had been properly EQ'd. That much compression and distortion is just annoying. My ears would prolly start bleeding if I ever saw them in person.

I've dabbled in Red Sparrows, Maserati, and Caspian. I did enjoy some Sparrows.
Junius has vocals, and I love them. (My buddy just did their latest album art)
Explosions in the Sky absolutely sucked live, actually they are quite over-rated on cd as well.

If you are from KC and like this scene, go watch a band called Auternus. They are good guys and play this stuff pretty solid.
