Andy was great this year. Frankly we would've not won the league without him, probably a 9 seed. May not have won first round either without his 19

Unless Seldon would have been more productive w/o Wiggans, I don't know if we would have made the tourney. One good thing about next year's team is at least we will have 2 juniors in Ellis & Trailor that have significant playing experience.

As long as Bill Self is coaching I NEVER want KU to be as young as they were this year. I don't why but IMO he just does not seem to handle frosh all that well.

Is this a schtick? Why not go all the way and call coach Bill Slef?

Some Perspective

For all the people that want to bash the Kansas Jayhawks because they hate KU, or for all the KU fans that are pissed at Bill Self and the players, READ THIS: Here is what you must be forgetting. Bill Self lost all 5 starters from last year.

58% off all scholarship players this year were Freshmen. Yes. 7 out of 12 players were Freshmen. Mason, Frankamp, Selden, Lucas, Greene, Wiggins, and Embiid were all Freshmen. Ellis, Traylor and White were only Sophomores, and they barely played last year. Black, who is a Senior, was in his "freshman" year in Self's offensive and defensive systems. Only 1 player had significant playing time under Self, and that was Tharpe.

Just think about that. 7 Freshmen, and 3 Sophomores, a first year Senior, and a Junior, replaced all 5 starters from the year before, played the toughest schedule anyone can remember, won the statistically toughest league in college basketball, and gained a #2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Was this loss disappointing? Yes. Was this season a disappointment? HELL NO.

This young team played a non-con schedule that was unreal, played a conference schedule that saw them play ranked team after ranked team, and they won the league. I wish we could have won today, but given all the info I just posted, I am proud of this team, and proud to be a Jayhawk. If you think this team underachieved, that is your problem. Rock Chalk.

This team did underachieve.

At this point in the season, your freshman shouldn't be playing like true freshmen esp with the way KU carelessly turned the ball over the last month. And these are guys that are NBA 1st rd talent...not some 2-3 star kid making hardly any noise in the AAU circuits. Having that said they showed flashes of brilliance and dominance at such a young age.

But they couldn't get the defense down, or what it took to be a great defending team, which is what Self's teams have always been about. They also had a hard time shooting the 3. Some guys were supposed to come through in that area, and at times they did, but it had to be more consistent. And it just wasn't there a lot of times this season.

Glad they kept the conference champion tradition going. 10 in a row in this day in age, with all of the parody there is in Men's bball, that's super impressive, and to do it like Chalmers Rush and Wright did, with a bunch of freshmen, is even more impressive. AND..they have the chance to do it again next season regardless of who leaves/stays. This team will get better.

But I'm not going to sit here and say Standford was a better team. They were bigger inside the paint because of Embiid's injury. That's a 15 pt swing with him in the game, but no reason to argue that, he wasn't playing and they won and a lot of us are pissed.

This team had the problem of not being able to stomp on the other teams throat for the kill shot. They always let teams in games and they always did just enough to win the game with a little bit of a lead at the end. This team needs to be more dominant next season and that starts with being able to knock it down from outside. KU couldn't play against a ****ing zone to save it's life this year. That's what happens when you can't knock them down from outside.

I wanted to see them play Florida again... they probably would have played loose and we could have seen Wiggins a couple more times and maybe Embiid once or twice.
You guys were upset about Michigan? I was OK with it. If dudes are going to jack and make guarded 35 footers, they deserve to win.

UNI, Bradley, Bucknell piss me off because it's an an effort thing. If we go out and play and get out played, that usually doesn't get me down. When they shit the bed against a junk team, **** that. **** that in the ****ing facehole.

This team outplayed us. We are way more talented, but they played the better game. I figured we'd lose and it could be early. It was. Stanford was tough and beat us inside. It's not like some junk team just lit us up.

LOL @ all the douches saying Big 12 gets 1 team to the sweet 16. So Baylor is in the Sweet 16 and they placed 6th in the league, so Big 12 kicks ass right?

At least we aren't like Creighton and getting blown the **** out of the building.

We weren't way more talented than them, sorry. Without Embiid this team was a marginal tourney team just like Stanford was. We would get smoked by nearly every Sweet 16 team.

Yes, we are

Our talent just wasn't developed. We ran on sheer talent and athleticism all year long. Many of the weaknesses we had at the beginning of the year are largely still there now. Selden has way too much talent to just be a spot-up jump shooter/defender just like we did McLemore,Henry,Rush etc

Stanford was a better 'team' while we were a bunch of guys running around

we were also outcoached against Stanford.

Tharpe played too much ... Mason's penetration and Frankamp's shooting should have gotten more time.

Stanford doesn't have a point guard, we should have pressed all game. Not just after we started getting worried.

Stanford rotated defensive schemes all game long to keep us off balance. We use the same schemes all game/year long.

Stanford fouled our key big man out, we didn't do that same

We failed to adjust to the zone defenses .... again.

We couldn't find a way to use Wiggins.

Darn the bad luck. RCJHGKU.
