He and the Porters are close and there was a lot of talk early on of a package deal with Michael.

A competent/good recruiting coach + Corey Tate + Mike Porter, Sr. would have landed Tilmon, Goodwin, and Mike Porter, Jr. Young was reportedly interested if that came to fruition (Kim's staff was trying to sell that vision in Year 1, before all hope fled).

If Missouri had hired, say, Ben Howland or Frank Martin (he was interested) instead of Kermit the Coach, Missouri's 17-18 roster could look like this:

Tilmon (Tate ties)
Juwan Morgan (Missouri kid, Kim and company thought Kevin Puryear was better)
Tyler Cook (Tate ties)
Mike Porter, Jr. (Dad ties)
Xavier Sneed (Tate ties)
Random PG instead of Phillips/Trae Young (new coach ties)
Goodwin (Tate ties)

Fill in the rest of the roster will role players and developmental players. That core right there has size + athleticism + inside scoring + slashers + jump shooters.

What Kim Anderson let slip through his fingers is a goddamn disgrace.

Only bright side is that it looks like Illinois is going to can John Groce. Make the right hire, and you might be able to salvage Jeremiah Tilmon from Illinois' class.

There are 351 NCAA D1 Basketball programs.

Mizzou, in a Power Five conference, is 340th in field goal pct, and dead last 351st in 3-point shooting percentage at 27.5 pct. And that's with Puryear going 4-4 from 3-point range today. Terrence & Phillip is terrible, just awful. They drew 7600 fans today, which is actually pretty good for Mizzou. This program is a train wreck. What's a guy gotta do to get fired around here? Snort coke off the biggest donor's daughter's tits? If so, Kimmy ought to place a booty call to Plaige Laurie....

My wife and I almost went today, but considered four dollar tickets and free parking too much of a hassle.

I still want to go to a game just to people watch. I think I might bring a notepad and just interview random people about their feelings on the state of the program.
