Yep, it was Tyler Brayton.

The sad thing is that if Carl had just stayed put, Polamalu would have been the pick and solved the Chiefs safety woes for nearly decade.

The Chiefs may have even beaten Manning and the Colts that year in the playoffs.

The problem is you have to be in the business to know who to hire.

Give Boss the job tomorrow and he doesn't know where to start or who to call or how to get a hold of them.
That info isn't as hard to find as it may seem. Some teenagers a couple years ago called up the miami dolphins and got right through to the GM and were discussing trades with him. It's not like the owner wouldn't have contact information for all clubs and agencies league wide.

And again, this isn't me saying I could be a GM. I've never said that. Hootie did because what I actually said was far different.

What I said was I think a groupthink of 30 of CPs best football minds could run the bottom 10 NFL teams front offices better than they have over the last few years. It was a comment I made 2-3 years back that was more pronounced then (because of so many poor front offices) and I think still holds true now (though maybe not with 10 teams...probably more like 6-7).

Hootie is just a drama queen. I even said I'm not saying I could do the job of a professional GM. I just said what I'd do that first offseason we got Reid. I never said it'd work but just what I'd do.

The reason why I don't think just anyone could walk right in and be a GM, is these guys who do it have relationships with others around the league for several years.

Seems quite arrogant to me that someone thinks they can just go and do it.

Most GMs start out in the scouting department, right? A lot of them have played the game, at least in college.
Who's going to skip all that and head straight for the front office?

Some here probably could draft better, however, you're just thinking about who you would draft without input from coaching and ownership.

Kevin Costner's character in Draft Day reminded me of Carl Peterson so much that I wanted to vomit right in the theater.

Carl had an awful problem of making friends with the players he met while doing draft prep.

I was so pissed that we didn't draft Polamalu that I shut off my TV and didn't watch the rest of the draft.
