USA Today predicts Chiefs at 4-12 for 2014

I could see it happening but really 6-8 wins seems pretty doable.

AFC West

Broncos 12-4 (2): Could be better than 2013 team even if wins and offensive output dip. But schedule is murderous.

Chargers 8-8: Last year's schedule allowed late-season charge. This year's could easily produce late-season slide.

Chiefs 4-12: Tight salary cap meant crippling free agent defections, and they didn't sufficiently reload in draft.

Raiders 3-13: Best thing influx of over-the-hill vets can do is change culture. Carr, Mack promise brighter days ahead.

Not true but repeating 2nd hand bs is standard here.

The only year worth blaming Smith for sacks is 2012

In the GB game he took 3 sacks when the team was up 2 scores starting in the late 3rd quarter
In the AZ game he took 2 sacks when the team was up 21 points

So in those 4 quarters out of the 37 he played he ate 5 sacks
21% of his sacks came in just 11% of his play.

In 2013 the sack rate was right about avg despite the O-line sucking depending on the lineup.
And why did the 49ers give up sacks at a higher rate than KC? The QB was asked to game manage like Alex Smith and too often would fail to find and connect the easy passes so he got pressured and sacked.

Albert was every bit as good as Alex is. Other than different position they are the same guy.

I doubt that KC will suffer any worse with Owens as slot corner than Flowers.. who was making far too much to be the liability he was.

I have been pretty down on the OL after watching the PS so far. Fisher and Allen too often play like they actually want the QB broken in pieces. I'm willing to give them and the whole OL more time before I condemn them to hell. Not looking good, but that doesn't mean they won't or can't correct their mistakes soon enough.

Asamoah was benched for his ineptitude, so no issues with that. I wanted KC to keep Schwartz, but it takes both sides to agree to that. The rookie 6th rounder looks good, but clearly has limitations in space.

I didn't like what KC did in the draft, but when looking back, I see the logic in it. Insurance at rush LB, and a likely replacement for Hali/Houston in 2015. Size and speed length CB for depth and a likely replacement for Sean's contract in 2015. DAT helps to replace what McCluster did for KC.

People here are just rushing to judgement, and why? because the powers that be chose to do things that conflict with what you wanted. Well... that's life.. pouting and ranting won't help anything.

I think a big part of Stephenson's problem is that he's not strong enough to play on the right side. He's spent most of his career on the left and he's obviously more comfortable there.

Naturally, if Fisher comes around, the situation improves immensely and immediately but there's more problems here than just him.
And to think we could of had Russell Wilson and 2 second round picks instead.

Yeah every team has a 6th round scrub starting.

The line is just flat out bad. I think Hudson is salvageable and we could "get by" with Stephenson, but 3/5 positions definitely need replacing.
