Nolan's Batman 3 Title
Batman sequel 'Rises' again
LOS ANGELES - THE next Batman sequel has a title: The Dark Knight Rises. Distributor Warner Bros. confirmed the name for director Christopher Nolan's third adventure about the DC Comics vigilante hero, which follows Batman Begins in 2005 and The Dark Knight in 2008. The Dark Knight Rises is due in theaters July 20, 2012. Bucking Hollywood's current wave of 3-D movies, Nolan is not planning to shoot the film in 3-D. Warner Bros had agreed with Nolan's argument that the sequel should resist the 3-D craze, the director told the Los Angeles Times' Hero Complex blog, which first reported the title. Nolan would not reveal what villain might appear in The Dark Knight Rises, but he said it would not be the Riddler, one of the key bad guys in the comics and past film and TV Batman tales. Earlier this year, Nolan said he would not resurrect the Joker, the cackling villain played by Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight. Ledger won the supporting-actor Academy Award for the role, a year after he died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. -- AP |

I am going to go on record and take the opposite side of the popular view that this film will not be able to live up to TDK. I have a feeling that it will at the very least match it if not top it. I just have this feeling that this movie is going to blow us away.

AMC theaters listing the run time as 2 hours and 45 minutes.....
http://www.amctheatres.com/movies/the-dark-knight-rises So this means that with 15-20 minutes of previews, it will be 3 hours and 5 minutes.....add to that you showing up to the theater 30 minutes to an hour early to get a decent seat, your looking at appx. 4 hours at your local theater to see this. Plan accordingly.....

I know the AMC at Town Center in Leawood did that for a while but have not been for a while now. I think it is just in the Fork and Screen now.

I believe you can do it online, through the AMC website.
*Pure speculation on my part here, as I've never bought advance tickets to any movie before. However, DKR is one I will have to see the very first night.

I don't know if they're doing it here (assume so, the Studio 30 usually does events), but if they do, I'm going to do the marathon, BB/TDK/TDKR.
