After one week, they clamp off the tube, but will not remove it, and then take an X-ray. If it is all healed, they remove the tube and you can go home. You'll rest for about 3 weeks.

At the time I worked in a control tower that was five story walk up with no elevator, I couldn't go back to work for a month, no exertion allowed or your reinjure the lung. I don't see how Drew can be back playing QB in less than 2 months if not longer, and I didn't even have broken ribs.
My son had a lung collapse 2x when he was a senior in HS. Spontaneous collapse with no injury and yea it took him months to recover.

Something about skinny tall white kids are prone to lung collapse. They make up something like 50% of all lung collapse with no trauma involved.

Ha! It all happened over the course of 2 years, my late teens early 20’s. Like stated above, tall skinny white male, it sucked. Racked up around 250K in hospital bills with no insurance. I have some badass scars from the surgerys to stop it from happening every couple months.
