Whether you loved him or hated him, he helped bring this team out of the toilet and his foundation is doing good work. Some fans are saying thank you by donating $11 dollars to the Alex Smith Foundation. It's not a lot of money for most people, and 95% of money given to the foundation goes directly to the kids.

For Smith haters, just wondering, who would you have rather wanted our QB to be the last 5 years? I guess we could've taken Carr, but Smith usually outplayed him anyway.

I think it's worked out perfectly. Smith made us about as good as we could've been during his tenure, and now we have a stud young QB to hopefully take us to the next level.

I donated. But I donated differently. I gave $11 in Alex's name to the DAV Charitable Service Trust.

I hate Alex Smith too, but this foundation seems to do a lot of good and has pretty low overhead. I'd save the hate for a good cause.

If you're super thrilled about Mahomes being the new QB, donate $15 to Smith's foundation if it makes you feel better.

For all time great Chiefs QB's I would put Alex at #4 behind Len Dawson, Joe Montana, and Trent Green. Alex got just as far as Trent Green in the playoffs, Trent just had a better downfield arm and took more risks, that's the only difference. I can't in good conscience put Rich Gannon on there above Alex because it's a what if scenario that Marty took from us.
