That should be Alex Smith's last game on the Chiefs.

The rest of the season doesn't matter. Cut Hali and DJ, move on and start fielding offers for Alex Smith. This game leaves a positive image of Alex Smith for the rest of the league. You can spin it as the team gave up but Alex is still good while you're talking trade for him.

Probably fire Sutton too and give an interim guy a look.

WTF?

The Chiefs aren't going to cut guys with 5 games left, nor can they "take offers" for Smith.

Go back to 4-3. 3-4 is out-dated in today's game.

Trade Justin Houston. He's useless now, he'd be useless in the 4-3. Get what you can out of him.

Cut Hali, DJ, Gaines, and Mitchell on def. I'd say trade Peters, but the Chiefs need someone at CB that can play. It's probably best to let him play out his rookie deal and then let him walk. During that time Chiefs should invest heavily in CB's via draft or FA.

I'd cut Colquitt post 6/1/18, would result in $0 dead money.

On offense, trade Alex Smith.

Defense needs a complete overhaul in their secondary.

No one is going to trade for Justin Houston with that contract of his and how he has played this season... So forget that. He'll have to get cut or restructured... Peters is still on his rookie contract. I can deal with his headaches for how cheap he is. He's still a very good player...

I'm up in the air with Sutton. On one hand I don't think he is very good because he seems to slow to make adjustments and he puts J Houston in coverage too much. On the other hand I see a real lack of talent on D. Our secondary wout Berry is simply garbage and we have no elite pass rushers or LBs. It doesn't even matter when J Houston rushes anymore it seems like he can never get pressure anyway.

Not sure it would matter who our DC is. I think we'd get lit up regardless.

only thing that really bothered me today about alex is a few of the underthrows, then that 4th and 5 to end the game where reek was wide open and he forced it in kelces direction

We're riding this year out with Alice and Andy baby! There's a really exciting .500 finish in our grasp and Alex is the captain of this jon boat, so deal with it!

What is a guarantee of anything?

They need to shed old vets and get younger and transition for the next guys. More picks will help that

I'm just stating that trading Smith for picks, which should be the move, doesn't mean anything unless Veach actually acquires talent for said picks.

Dorsey's recent drafts haven't netted much talent, which is why the Chiefs are in their current predicament.

Dee Ford, oft-injured Mitch Morse, the Keivarie Russell disaster, etc. and so on.

Yeah the lack of draft talent has torpedoed the defense . It got old and expensive fast

I think they need a big defensive shakeup. The message ain’t working
