Here's Conley's statement on it. He said they checked him out but it was more his back than his head.

The question should be "Was the concussion protocol followed?". If the answer is yes, then there's nothing on the Chiefs or any member of their staff. The protocol calls for a video replay of the hit by NFL staff and a evaluation by a league doctor. They only have to go to the locker room if further evaluation is needed.
In short, it's the NFL staff to make that call and not the Chiefs. |

I anticipate that even if nothing wrong happened we can expect to lose our 1st round pick for the next 5 years.
When they've held out other guys for precaution and concussion protocol, and based upon Conley's contributions to the team, exactly what is the incentive for the Chiefs to get in trouble to try to sneak this past the NFL? I like the kid, but he's not exactly the vital cog in the machine that makes the difference between victory or defeat handing in the balance. Look at how cautionary they were with Alex, Maclin, Houston, Hali, Morse, Charles, and so forth. But, with Chris Conley injuries and long term health be damned because he's the Chiefs' Julio Jones. What a load of crap!

I think I got my "bell rung" as many times in baseball (catcher - foul tips to the catcher's mask), and wrestling (we were brutal) as I did in football. However football was king when it came to broken fingers!

Hahaha no doubt. I think I've broken every finger on both hands at some point playing ball. A couple are twisted and one fingertip grows more like the letter W than anything, but ah well. Played O-line... and blitzing ****ing linebackers were usually the reason. Caught my hands on their facemask, as they rush in head down, trying to get my hands on them more than a few times.

During the game the cameras focused up on him during his eval on the sidelines and you could tell he was cruising thru his scat 3 concussion protocol questions quite confidently. I posted right then that he was going to come back into the game. A concussed player will try to b.s. their way thru those list of questions but at a pretty slow pace.

Hockey does something similar. There is some draw backs like completely barbaric hit and the guy is ok after the hit only gets a roughing penalty,
