Cosmo is 100% correct.

I logged in to Royalsplanet a few times and read Hootie's lengthy diatribes. I lost interest after reading the same thing about 600 times. If he had ever learned to shut the **** up, he would still be here.

I really think this is what it all comes down to. The other stuff is just the basis for the part of him that annoys people the most.

I do have access, but there are a hundred or so threads and I'm not going through all of them to build a case.
I personally wouldn't go so far as to say he "mishandled funds." The main things that I remember are him changing lineups and entering his own lineups in the same contest (which therefore results in him competing with the group).

Honestly, there may have been some additional issues as well...pretty much everything he does is a controversy. I won't swear to this because I don't remember the details, but there was also some issue with bonus entries generated by the group's play. He may have kept those for himself.

And again, I'm pretty sure the CP banning was a result of taking the bitching to the Lounge, when all discussion about it was supposed to stay in the sub-forum.

Hootie didn't mishandle CP funds. Hootie didn't control the funds. BRC did.

What Hootie did was use the same lineups that the group was using in his own personal lineups, which everyone had agreed NOT to do from the very beginning. In fact, Hootie was the one who insisted from the very beginning that the most important rule was that nobody could do that. Later, when it became convenient for him, he totally violated the rule, and he cried like a little bitch when everyone else said "What the **** are you doing?". If he had limited his crying to the Fanduel forum it would have been fine, but Hootie decided it would be a good idea to start a thread on the main CP forum to continue crying like a little bitch. As soon as he started that thread it was obvious he was going to be banned, but he was too ****ing stupid to see that.

Apparently he still is.

And by the way, Hootie, if you are reading this, Alex Gordon SHOULD HAVE BUSTED HIS ASS OUT OF THE BATTER'S BOX with 2 outs in the 9th inning of game 7 of the 2014 World Series!

You think after the Fanduel shit that transpired that Hootie's just going to leave that alone and ignore it whenever somebody throws it in his face?

If people think Clay is toxic to the community, wait until they see what Hootie would do to this ****ing place

That's right...he was the biggest advocate of that at the start. Then it later came out he was doing it...completely bizarre.

I am now going to hijack this thread for a moment.

Yes. That was an understandably human error on Alex's part, but I never held it against him. He put the team on his shoulders in August and early September and was the only reason we made the playoffs. He then went on to have beastly clutch hits in the LDS, LCS and WS. However, if Alex goes 100% from the box and doesn't stumble around second... I still think he gets nabbed at home, but what a much more fitting end to the 2014 Royals that would have been.

Alex Gordon made up for that in about the most poetic way he could. If the 2015 Royals were a sequel, and an author wrote that Alex had an at bat down 1 in the bottom of the ninth in the following World Series, that author would have been blasted for writing a Disney movie ending.

Yet, here we are. Thank you forever for this, Gordo!

Completely agree with everything you said. The Royals would not have even been there in 2014 without Alex Gordon, and he totally redeemed himself in the 2015 World Series with his home run off Familia.

You could almost argue that the angst of coming so close in 2014 made 2015 a thousand times sweeter. That was the best 13 months of baseball we will ever see. It was absolutely perfect.

I told myself after acquiring Cueto and Zobrist in 2015 that I may never see a more talented Royals team in my lifetime... and I was completely at peace with that.

2016 tested my mettle at times, but now that I'm in the offseason, I've been able to soak up how incredible 2015 was all over again.

The Royals pulled something off that I never thought they would in a sport where all of the odds were stacked against them. It's something I'm going to be able to treasure for the rest of my life.

Alright, I've parted my two cents. Everyone can now resume with the thread's intended programming.

He admitted to that. But that shouldn't get him banned from the forum and according to him, he never got to use those lineups anyway.

He's amazing...the shit he'll convince himself is true. The whole world is against him He's just been misunderstood...by everybody...again.
He's nuts. He's convinced himself that everyone is spreading the word he stole $5000. I even defended him on that.

He secretly changed lineups without approval to do so, and he submitted personal entries in competition with the group. And he took his bitching to the lounge when he shouldn't have. All three were clear violations of basic agreed-upon rules. I'm probably being charitable in limiting the violations to those three things, but those are what come to mind first.
