Well, that's a good point. If he was on my side I'd probably try to assign him to another sector or something so I could have warning if he's approaching.

I think when all three are healthy, I'd take Houston because of the total package.

He's elite against the run. Completely dominant.

He has the total package as a pass rusher...elite first step....elite strength....elite finisher...elite speed to track down mobile QBs...he can literally hear any OT in the league by attacking their weakness and playing off of it.

He is very good in coverage. Borderline elite for his position. He runs a 4.6 at 265, so he can run with most tight ends and can stay with backs for the time needed. He also has good instincts in coverage and finds a way to get his hand on the ball when tested.

The tough part is that he hasnt been very dependable, physically. He hasnt finished 2/3 of the last seasons due to injury.

Unfortunately, that drops him to third in a tight race. At least IMO.

Von Miller RIGHT NOW may be the best of the three, based on how he finished last season....but he also has warts. He has been suspended for drugs, has been involved in one way or another in a murder case, doesn't always give his full effort, has blown out his acl...these concerns (and others) give question on if Miller can maintain that level of play. Especially after a huge payday, a whole offseason off, the defense losing Trevathan, Bruton and Jackson and other factors like Wade Phillips defenses losing their effectiveness the longer he coaches them.

Khalil Mack is a great player (as are the other 2) and has consistently improved the more he gets experience. He doesn't have injury or off the field concerns. The management has improved the rest of that defense and that's gonna help Mack "get home" easier.

They upgraded 3 spots in the secondary with solid additions in Joseph, Smith and Nelson...those additions will make teams pause enough to give Mack more time and I can see him having a huge year as a pass rusher.

If I could pick any of the three, I'd probably take Mack.

He's the only one of the three that doesn't have warts.

I can see him getting 20-25 sacks next year.

Neither Houston nor Miller had injury issues after their first 2 seasons either.

He was first used in coverage as a rookie (despite that being considered his weakness) and did such a great job his rookie year they didn't wan't to use him as a rusher.

I have seen jack $3it from Mack to impress me. I see talent, ability, and absolutely ZERO impact on games.

Miller can take over a game. So can Houston. We can argue A or B there.

Mack has the ability to be a top 3 guy but he just doesn't seize it...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

That's irrelevant.

Until he gets hurt, suspended or in trouble off the field....Mack is the only one of the three that's "clean".

Of course it's relevant. Injuries are fickle business and neither Houston nor Miller have proven themselves to be injury prone.

And he's the, by far, least accomplished.

He's Brian Bozworth at this point...

Totally disagree.

Mack completely took over both Oakland/Denver games...among others.

The guy had 15 sacks even though his defense had one of the worst secondaries in the league.

Miller had 11 even though his defenses secondary was straight up elite and he had legit pass rush threats in front of him on he DL.

Very impressive, if you ask me.

Hey, the guy blew up and had 5 in one game vs Denver... he earned it, but that skews it a touch as it is a rare feat. 32 games and he has sacks in 11 games... just saying. Miller had sacks in 22 of his first 32 games.

I'll take the guy who has proven he can do it on the big stage if all else is close to being equal. You can have 1-16, give me games 17, 18, 19.
