The WUG teams that we played were not much better than what we played in exhibition or the worthless non-con games. I was glad to win that, and it was a fun unusual event to be a part of, but I'm not holding onto any of those memories to get excited about this season.

Apparently, WIBW in Topeka was grandfathered in on that deal since they were still under contract. But that contract was up this year and now I have no way to see them. This covers 6 games every year (2 exhibition and 4 early season games). The games that remain that won't be viewable are Loyola (Md) on Dec. 1, Holy Cross on Dec. 9, and Montana on Dec. 19. This deal really sucks. You screwed your fans in Kansas, you morons.
Oh and I agree with this... this shit sucks. Similar to putting MLB playoff games on MLBN, TNF on NFLN, etc; except those are 'only' there to put pressure on providers, where as the TWC/KU deal won't ever be a good deal for people without TWC. At least take care of local fans.

(And I have TWC, MLBN, NFLN, etc.)

Hell, I couldn't even get TWC even if I wanted it. There is no TWC in Topeka.

The NCAA is trying to do what the NBA did a few years ago to improve the product. Hoops wasn't intended to be as physical as its gotten.

Washington started 4 freshmen against Texas. They could be a team to watch for the next few years. Texas was favored by 11 in Shaka Smart's debut.

Exactly, and they will call them much tighter at the beginning of the season in an attempt to set the tone for the overall season.

Was at the Utah/San Diego State game last night and the whistles were absolutely chirping all night. (Although, they didn't seem to give a rats ass about calling travelling, but they sure as hell were extremely tight with contact fouls, especially on the perimeter.)

I'm pretty pumped to get my first real look at the team since this summer. I don't know what to expect and I've really been off base since the Royals took over, but I'm ready!

They're doing a terrible job of destroying interest, because the Tourney hit a 22-year high in ratings and ESPN set an all time high (34 years) in regular season ratings.

You're in hoops hell right now, which clouds your judgment.

How come a group of College AllStars got 7th or 8th the time before us then? There was easily 3 or 4 of those teams who would be Top 25 teams, easily.

You don't need TWC in Topeka. The TWC Sports Channel is carried by Cox Cable there.

I'd also like to see a link to the stats you cite.
He won't cite shit, so I will for him: 979 broadcasts avg 434,000 viewers. 425,000,0000 people watched a regular season game last year, as best we know. (Thats 425 million)

7 players fouled out

77-71 Washington
