Pagano Tosses Luck under the bus

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ck-after-loss/

Frustrated Pagano tough on Luck after loss

Posted by Zac Jackson on September 22, 2015, 1:21 AM EDT
Chuck Pagano, Andrew Luck
AP
The Colts were a mess from the beginning Monday night and were ultimately doomed by five turnovers — three Andrew Luck interceptions — in a 20-7 loss to the Jets.

After the game, Colts coach Chuck Pagano didn’t try to hide his frustration with his quarterback and his team as a whole.

“He’s got to take care of the football,” Pagano said in his postgame press conference. “It’s not that hard. It’s not trigonometry.”

The simple math says that the Colts have scored three touchdowns and committed eight turnovers through two games, both losses.

“Can’t turn the damn ball over,” Pagano said.

Gregg Doyel of the Indianapolis Star, who was at the game and at the postgame press conference, wrote that Pagano was “throwing Luck under the bus.”

While the Jets clearly frustrated Luck with a variety of blitzes and sometimes just by simply overpowering them in one-on-one battles in the trenches, Pagano hinted that Luck has to overcome his line’s shortcomings.

“[That has] been the case for three years now, hasn’t it?” Pagano asked. “He should be more than comfortable dealing with it.”

What are you going to complain about this year? Headsetgate proved to be a no-go. Gotta try to find something else I guess. Losers always have excuses.

Maybe... Reeves was also fairly conservative until the situation needed something drastic. There's a whole lot of reasons why Elway and Reeves clashed.

Reeves wanted to slow things down, control the clock and win it with a barefoot kicker if need be... but, when things were close to hitting the fan, Elway could turn things around.

Even with a good offensive line Luck is going to throw a lot of Int. Guy is a gunslinger and in love with his arm. He takes the chance and threads one in there but the quality corners are gonna get theirs off him and often. I would love to have him what kinda package would we have to put together to make it happen?

Franchise QB's typically command something like two seconds.

I haven't seen much of him, but what I have seen, and alot of what I've heard, reminds me too much of another #1 overall pick -- Drew Bledsoe. Among the best arms I've ever seen, but the decision-making wasn't fast enough, and he LOVED that deep ball baby. "Take what teh defense gives me? **** that, DO YOU KNOW HOW FAST AND HOW FAR I CAN THROW THIS ****ING THING?!? I AIN'T TAKING NO FOUR YARD CHECKDOWN --EVER!"

Drove me bananas. Million dollar arm, ten cent head.

Also Keep in mind they Drafted Dorsett with T.Y and Moncrief on that roster.
Inexcusable waste of a draft pick, especially considering that they also picked up Andre Johnson in free agency prior to the draft and paid him $22 million dollars on a three year contract.

Everyone wants to bitch about spending high draft picks on the offensive line, but last night was a prime example of why you do so when the opportunity affords itself and when the need is there. You don't get your QB killed for the sake of drafting even more "skill" position players when you've already invested in them.

Costanzo was the only O-lineman worth two shits out there last night. Mewhort is a rookie.

There are 53 players on a roster for a reason.

Since 2000, the Colts have spent a grand total of six picks on the offensive line in the first three rounds. (That's six picks out of a possible 44 over 15 Drafts.):

2007 - Tony Ugoh, 2nd Round
2008 - Mike Pollak, 2nd Round
2011 - Anthony Costonzo, 1st Round; Ben Ijalana, 2nd Round
2013 - Hugh Thorton, 3rd Round
2014 - Jack Mewhort, 2nd Round

Only Costonzo and Mewhort are starting.

That's ****ing horrible.

You want to know why their offensive line looks like a pile of smashed assholes? It's because it is a pile of smashed assholes.

However, I did read it around here that they were the team to beat in 2015, so who knows? I'm sure that they will pull it all together and right there championShip before the end of the season. Because Andy Reid sucks.

That was a craptastic gameplan the Colts used last night...throwing bombs against the best secondary in the NFL. Jets D-line is top 5 too...bad time to expect long routes to develop.

Gore was having success...and they quit using him. They did miss an easy FG and fumbled on the one....still could have won the game...

That GM might be the worst in the league.
