Nut, check local advocacy programs and try to find a facility that has an IPR program. You will emphasize one of the 3 following components of life: residential, social or vocational/working. I am a licensed IPR Practitioner myself and although I haven't worked in that field in 3-4 years, I do have experience working with people who were born with cp. I had a client with cp choose an emphasis on the working/vocational component and was relatively successful. I don't know, something to think about... If they have an IPR program in your area, it could be beneficial to you.

I've had friends ask me for money on more than one occasion. I'm a helper so I always agreed. I actually got my money back in every such case. I got lucky.. Well, they got lucky because I'll fight a mother****er.

My family, on the other hand, never pays my ass back. I've had to cut off my mom and sister.

Another not-entirely-relevant personal post: what's up with this GoFundMe shit lately? I feel like there's one cropping up every other day for various reasons.

I had a friend on Facebook set one up to help fund his dream of playing basketball. He set the limit to $8,000. I don't even know what the **** he wanted to the money for, exactly. I guess traveling for tryouts and what not.

I just couldn't see myself begging (that's basically what it is) for something I could make happen myself.
