It would be impossible to choose between them in a head to head of the two, if you could match up the best teams either one ever played on. But in terms of their career and varying levels of personnel on offense, you'd have to pick Brady

Prime Montana > Prime Brady IMO. Simply based on the fact that Montana had some wheels when he was younger.
But past 30 I think I'd take Brady.

Montana post 30 did have periods where he would break down. Other than Brady's lost season to Pollard, he has been very very durable.

All the top 10 QB's have impressive individual awards you could throw in someone's face. Young had a great career and a lot of impressive accomplishments (including the best Superbowl performance in history) but I don't know how anyone can say he's better than Staubach or Manning. |

I would say Montana but Brady would be in the Top 3. He is definitely better than Manning.

It's Brady. Joe had four wins, but only got there four times.

It's pretty easy to stay durable in the NFL when guys can't hit you and when they do they change the rules to ensure it doesn't happen again.

That's interesting. As I asked somoene else earlier, would you rank Bradshaw ahead of Manning and Marino based on that reasoning? |

True, although I think Brady would have survived fine in Montana's era (certainly better than Manning, who would have been pissing a shit fit every time he got touched)
