My top choice is gblowfish.
If he doesn't want to do it, then I don't really have a 2nd choice right now.

My vote is Duncan. Dude knows the Royals, and his posts are extremely informative. Like, even more informative than hootie thinks his posts are.

yep, upper deck behind home plate.
I also have refundable tickets for Sunday and Monday in the ALDS. I'll probably skip the ALCS since those tickets are science-fiction expensive, but if they get to the world series, ill have to go to at least one of those games.

Seriously though, in the blessed, crazy, situation that we not only beat Oakland but also somehow get past the Angels, I will have seen most of that and seeing us play baseball against the Tigers or goofy orangebirds won't really compare. If we get to the world series, fine, thats huge, I'll make room for that, too.

Something hasn't computed to me yet, I have this weird feeling inside that the playoffs truly start after the "play in game". Like I get that we have a ticket to the show, but I want to make it past the opening credits before getting booted from the theater.

In 2014, Alex Gordon hit 19 home runs. If he homers Tuesday, years from now the statistics will still say that in 2014, he homered 19 times. If this is not enough, then consider this: our game will be the only MLB game played or televised in the entire country. This has never been true since 1985. If we are triumphant or get killed by the A's at home, it will be witnessed by the entire nation, since they had nothing better to do than watch our nationally-televised game. This is a playoff game. Anyone who says otherwise is a stupid moron.

I started 6 Game threads in 2013. Record: 5-1 including the 4th of July game where Cain hit the grand slam.
I'm the obvious choice

I'm voting for George because of his hatred of the A's. He's pounded that drum when the rest of us thought he was just a grumpy old man. Well, he still is a grumpy old man but dammit he's OUR grumpy old man.
Duncan would be great, as I like his intellectual approach and passion. It's gotta be one of our oldies but goodies, someone who understands what this game means to us. |
