Electric Guitar Purchase Looming
I've been playing acoustic 6 string for about 5-6 years now and I am drooling to get an electric.

I have no idea where to begin. I do know the sound I want to achieve but am clueless how to get there. The sound is pretty close to this song:



What do I need besides an axe and amp? Humbuckers, pickups, hiccups, humpickers? Teach me, planet.

GAS is a real thing. Got a buddy who has over 120 guitars. A great deal of them aren't even out of their shipping boxes.

I had that exact Tele. Was a rough time and I lost it to a pawn shop.

Im done buying expensive Fenders Gibsons Gretch I've got good ones I like. I'm now into buying cheap guitars and doing what needs to be done to make them a player. In this adventure, I have been really surprised by the quality out there.

I got started by watching youtube vids on guys making parts casters or making players out of cheap guitars. I follow Jimmy Stewart who is active in this and very honest in his opinions.




I bought that monoprice Tele and having a blast with it. It came fine have not had to do anything with it other than change the strings clean and oil the fretboard. I did tighten down the tuners 2 were a little loose.

Yea. If you can get a good body and neck build, you can do anything you want. I've seen some spectacular Fender Tele copies. Not so much with Gibson copies, IMO.
