Interesting day at NFL officiating clinic. Biggest point of emphasis for 2014..Illegal contact and defensive holding. More offense!
10:40pm - 18 Jul 14

NFL says they are offsetting this emphasis with an emphasis on calling offensive pass interference. Not an even trade in my opinion.

the NFL is already on life support in my world; meaning, it's nearly dead to me already. another ridiculous 'emphasis' is just the icing on the cake.

I'm exicted to see even more 'wtf' type judgement calls that go against us, or 'for' the NFL poster children.

Bowe is going to get an OPI call when he scores against one (if not all) of these teams - Broncos, Seahawks, 49ers, Patriots.

I don't know what's weird about it...

I could gamble on women's tennis and be grossly entrenched with the match the entire time.

Football is also the one sport where you can be a fan and watch every game. It's just the perfect American sport. And with concussions etc...it is, one day, going to be a lot more like two hand touch than the football we watch today.

and as long as I can still have a fantasy team and still bet on an outcome...count me in!

I will say, I'm kind of a sucker for offense, though. I think the NFL has really never been better the past few years. I mean, I appreciate great defense. The 'Hawks were my bandwagon team because I have an unhealthy mancrush on Russell Wilson...but yeah. I'd buy NFL stock right now. I think, at least for the next 10 years, it's only going to keep growing.

I don't know how you can watch football and not think it is sports, though. It hasn't gone that far, yet. Not even close.

The NFL is still a vastly superior product of football than the NCAA...and it's not even close.

Speaking of FF, I appreciate the new type of fan that FF has brought to the game. It's just not my thing though. I hate FF. I'm old school lol. I could never root for another team, let alone a player(s) on another team to score a TD or do good.

I hate going to Chiefs games and seeing Joe Blow in front of me cheering on Dez Bryant for helping his FF team by scoring a TD against us. Ugh lol. But it is what it is.

I think FF is absolutely awful...highlighting the worst in sports individual stuff over teams.

Just a bunch of mercinaries out there and the team/community representation aspect goes out the window.

Not saying football is not a sport. Saying you've made it obvious football isn't what you like.

I play Fantasy Football, but I make it a hardfast rule to never, ever start a player who's playing the Chiefs. This means I go away from drafting Broncos, Chargers, and Raiders.

You'd think that type of thinking would yield some crap results, but I've won my league twice in the past five seasons, including a few runners-up.

We flew in for the game against the Cowboys and my wife was wondering why these fans in front of us (fellow Chiefs fans) were standing up, clapping and cheering when Dez scored those TDs. I took a closer look and these three guys had earplugs in and their phones were velcrowed to their wrists. I told my wife times are changing lol.

I don't mind it it's just not me. I have a friend that plays it and always drafts Chiefs players because he's kind of in the same mold as you. He likes FF but can't stand other players. I told him that's not how you play lol. Unlike you, he's a perennial FF loser.
