Has Anyone Else Bought A New Gas Can Recently?

My old plastic gas can developed a leak, so I replaced it with a new one. Apparently, the federal government has mandated that all new gas cans be "spill-proof." Mine has a spring-loaded cap that you have to pull back, which exposes the spout which exposes the plug. Unfortunately, this "spill-proof" design makes it virtually impossible NOT to spill ****ing gas all over the place when filling up the mower...

I was outside, covered in fuel, basically laughing my ass off at the stupidity of it, and was wondering if others have had the same issues?

Tractor supply has a rebuild kit for older gas cans. Comes with the yellow vent n old style cap with an adapter to fit new style gas cans. Works great, just have to drill a hole for the yellow vent

Yes, I'm reeruned.

I have the one shown at 2:10 in the video in post #3. It is a horrible design. Perhaps some of the others are better.

I'm waiting for a multiple fatality event when a 12 year old uses one of these to fill up a mower and gets it on a hot exhaust and burns down a city block.

My dad burned downa tractor that way when he was about that age. Maybe younger.

He was putting gas in a tractor?

On a side funny story, a local kid accidentally put gas in a small diesel tractor, caught his mistake and decided to vacuum the gas out of the tank so that he wouldn't get in trouble.........

You need to take a lesson from that man - he seems nice and helpful.

Can you book a training session with him? Sounds like he knows that particular product. Good man it seems.

Oh, you meant that I should get a "how to work your gas can" lesson from that man. I thought you meant something else.

I have a lot of the old style and 3 of the new age "feds are looking out for us" models. I just replace the end with an after market old school end and I'm done with it. The new ones with the whole twist and pull ends suck.
