Berry is a good player and he would be nice to keep around and all. But really we should have drafted Earl Thomas we needed a free safety not a box backer.

I dont have a problem keeping but I think your letting emotions rule the day here. I think fans value Berry higher than coaches and GMs.
Face it we kept ****ing turd burger free safety till it cost us dearly yet never moved Berry? Why because Berry is a dog in coverage and is just adequate against TE's. he play up in the box and is an animal against the run. But you dont draft a Safety numero uno to be a run stuffer. The injury hurt him. the Pro Bowl in 2012 common? He didnt deserve that they threw him a bone. He was on last year but probowl Its become a farce and a popularity BS. Earl Thomas is a stud that covers incredibly well and can lay some wood he is no slouch and the Chiefs would have been better to have traded down that year and taken him. Im for sure no expert in football but Ive been a fan since the first superbowl and I was a lil tike watching with dad and brother on a black and white packard bell.So you can take your pre school bs and shove it down your gullet. You got your opinion I have mine. If the Chiefs traded him I wouldn't be surprised nor would I jump of the Bond Bridge. Oh by the way have you ever seen Reid or Dorsey single out Berry with praise or talk how he took over the game? Neither have I. probably because he hasn't been the same since his knee blowout. |

Berry is a good guy but he hasn't payed dividends that was heeped and hyped on him coming out of College. He is very good but he isnt a big play game changer or really shown he will be. Through no fault of his own it was a terrible injury. I just dont think he fits what we need in the D. We need to seal the second and third tier of our D and he doesnt offer us that playing in the box. I just have a feeling he wont renegotiate his contract to be more cap friendly. He is grossly over paid for what he is giving us.

He would have *won us a playoff game against the Colts IF he played FS next to Berry at SS. Yes, you're probably right. Got any other obvious crap you want to say? And here's some news for you: what evidence do you have that Romeo wouldn't have done the exact same ****ing thing and put Earl Thomas in the goddamn box the way he played Berry? Both players played FS coming out of college, and it isn't like Berry is all that much bigger than Thomas (about 10 lbs of difference between the two) Eric Berry was a ballhawking free safety in college. Had we taken Earl Thomas and the Seahawks taken Berry, then everybody would be talking about Berry and the Seahawks defense the way they talk about Thomas and the Seahawk defense. |

I read the Mellinger article I dont agree about a 3rd or maybe 2nd rounder. I wouldnt make the trade for less than a Nice first rounder and a 3rd. But I would keep all options open. I do agree you got to keep Houston. Hali maybe ripe to move. |

Look ma, I can say stuff!
Really though. I had two guys at work tell me today that if they let Berry go they would seriously consider letting the Chiefs go. And these guys are no fair weather fans. I, on the other hand, am stuck with em~ |
