Broncos are probably going to take Mayfield, and we will probably hate him.

...if we don't already.

He's suuuuuuuch a Bronco, too.

I don't like Mayfield, but I would not bet against him. He has a serious chip on his shoulder. His helicopter father will need to learn to keep his mouth shut at the NFL level. You can't bully the coaches into playing your kid at this level.

My biggest question is how he will handle the NFL pass rush and secondaries. He had a big talent advantage on his side pretty much every game while at Oklahoma. Clemson (whole game) and Georgia (second half) were the only teams that got after him in the pass rush and he struggled a bit in those games.

He needs to work on his scrambling. What's his 40 time figure to be?

That was a pretty good take down by that cop though. We could use some Linebacker depth.

Idc if he's a guard, I would hate to see a division rival get Quenton Nelson.

We grab OG Nelson and an OT of choice (Williams, McGlinchey) at #10 and #11. And then I don't give a shit what happens after that.
That would certainly fill Denver's most glaring needs, but I just don't think Cousins is worth what he's going to cost. The guy has had a really good OL and weapons around him and he's had WASH hovering around .500 for the past three years.

Denver definitely needs a new QB, but I'd prefer drafting and developing our own. I want to trade up for Darnold, but it'll be hard to build up the OL if they go that route.

Meh. We've been skating by on paying our QB nothing ever since PFM left. Our Defense is already degrading and drafting a QB pushes our Offensive problems down the road - we end up with a QB that shouldn't be expected to be competent behind a line that we know is incompetent. We had that time to draft and develop our own. We ****ed that up by going with Osweiler and Lynch. To a lesser degree, Siemian, although I don't think drafting Siemian was a mistake. The mistake was not drafting someone else who was capable of relegating him to the backup spot. So this is what happens when you try to do it the right way but you **** that up. You end up buying your way out of your mistakes. I'm not going to be sad that they ****ed it up. There's no point in that. Instead I'll be appreciative that they have a chance to buy their way out of their mistakes. I hope they take that opportunity.

This. Mayfield is an overrated college QB who is going to struggle like a worm on a hook at the NFL level. And the Chiefs D would absolutely throw him in to multiple, Phyllis-like, tizzy-fits where his true "character" of spoiled douche will come shining on through.

Let's DO this!

This news is like a week old.

There's really no one else to request at the QB position that's participating in the event. Why would the Broncos take this guy when he's a development project? We're looking for a vet first.
