How Many 1st Rounders for YOU to trade Mahomes?

It's a simple question.

Looks like we have an absolute stud at QB and that's the most important position in the league. However, if 'X' team came at you as Chiefs GM and offered you 'x' future 1st round picks for Pat, what does it take for you to move him?

Everything has it's price right?

The more pertinent question is how many 1st round picks would you give to land him?

Since we are doing hypotheticals...say you give up 5 1st rounders. You then have Mahomes, in his prime, at age 28 and a media/ratings darling for the past 5 years. You figure those picks would be in the bottom 15.

I picked the Falcons out of a hat

2014 6 Jake Matthews Offensive tackle Texas A&M
2015 8 Vic Beasley Outside Linebacker Clemson
2016 17 Keanu Neal Strong Safety Florida
2017 26 Takkarist McKinley Defensive End UCLA [y]
2018 26 Calvin Ridley

Generational QBs never hit the market...unless they are doped up on HGH.

What would Manning have been worth at age 23...knowing what we know now? He established an entire franchise...and put Indy on the map. He generated hundreds of millions for that city...if not a billion over his career.

All of them. It would take all of them for the rest of time.

Wait, nope. Still wouldn't do it.

The other three teams in the AFC west might consider contributing some picks to get him out.

Aaron Rodgers was drafted in 2005. Brett Favre in 1991. John Elway in 1983.

So we see someone like Mahomes once every 8-14 years on average.

So I'm gonna need 10-12 first round picks to ensure that I have a shot at getting another comparable QB.

1 out 32 teams is drafting a generational talent every 8-14 years.

I don't know how to do the math, but 10-12 first round picks doesn't cover it.

I waited nearly 60 years to finally see this pick.

There is nothing you could offer me to move Mahomes.

This except worse because at least you're old enough to remember the glory years. My first Chiefs QB memory is Mike Livingston.
