Teams that trade out of #1 get reamed. Sounds like the PERFECT plan for the ****ing Chiefs. I'm not sure I can even give them until the draft if they're this ****ing stupid. |

I can't believe how many people believe everything they hear this time of year. It's 2 months until the draft takes place and people are going bonkers over every brokedick article that gets printed. Team personnel aren't going to tell us their draft plans even if they actually know what they're going to do themselves. Do you really think that Andy Reid spent 9 hours negotiating with Clark Hunt so he could play second fiddle to a rookie GM. Reid drafted McNabb and almost reached the pinnacle with him so it stands to reason that he will again choose a gifted quarterback to lead us to the promised land. Reid is driving this train and he doesn't want some mediocre castoff that he didn't draft and groom. Like Bill Parcells said "If I'm cooking the dinner then I want to shop for the ingredients". We're already light years ahead of where we were last year so sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

So the Chargers "didn't win shit" as in didn't win the SB. Lets not pretend like they would have with Vick. They passed on an exciting but overrated, disappointing career QB and got a HOF RB and a great QB they either let go before his prime or couldn't figure out the magic formula (that Sean Payton did). But the point stands that they drafted another future HOF player with that next pick. Just saying this is a bad example IMO for what you're tryinig to say. That trade was a home run for the Chargers. |

Conflicting Positions:
1. Many say we must take Geno #1. He may not be RGIII, but we are in bad need of a QB and Geno has many of the tools you look for in a QB. So me must take Geno. I think it is a valid position. 2. Then many of the same people step and say there is no way we can find a trading partner. Well if argument #1 is true, then it seem Buffalo, Jags, Jets, and Cardinals would all be interested in moving up to get Geno. You also have Joekel, many teams would love to have a LT to plug in for the next decade. If the Chiefs believe Geno is not the answer and get Smith or Foles, trading down is a real possiblity. It may have to be a little bit of discount compared to other years, but I don't see a situation where there is no trading partners. |

The Falcons won this trade, even though it's the closest to even of all of them in the last 30 years. |

The Chargers got to the AFC Championship game. Had several playoff runs. LT was a part of all that. Michael Vick's crowning achievement was winning a playoff game in GB. No matter how you shake it, the trade was effectively Michael Vick for two HOF players. Your original point is still valid. You could still say it doesn't work out for that team with the #1 pick 90+% of the time. And that would be true. But this is not one of them. Just isn't. |

And yes they got those playoffs runs when Rivers was there. So what? It's not like LT was a backup at that point. He was still a main cog of that offense. LT alone has turned out to be better than Vick. Then you add Brees on top of that? Throw in the towl man. This one is a slam dunk. |

If an irrelevant franchise could mess up the draft, it would be the Chiefs...
You dont become the Chiefs by doing the right thing. You become the Chiefs by pushing for 9-7 and not screwing up the tailgating experience. Trading the #1 pick tells you all you need to know about your failing franchise. |

QBs win championships, 5 tech DL do not. |

I think it's more likely we steal someone's #1 from next year for a swap of #2's and I would personally be for just such a move.
