I might be alone listing the Chiefs here as one of my “winners” from draft weekend, but I love what they did, adding two impact cornerbacks who will help right away with Washington’s Marcus Peters and Oregon State’s Steven Nelson. Kansas City also added an underrated offensive lineman out of Missouri, Mitch Morse, who can play any spot on the offensive line. The Chiefs drafted a pair of Bulldogs with wide receiver Chris Conley and linebacker Ramik Wilson – Conley tested off the charts while Wilson had excellent production in the SEC. And then in the later rounds, Kansas City was able to snag Southern Miss defensive tackle Rakeem Nunez-Roches in the sixth round, which is an absolute steal. General manager John Dorsey and his crew had a great weekend.

Yeah yeah yeah, it doesn't mean anything right now... but it kinda does to me because this team has gotten almost NO publicity all offseason, even worse than the Edwatds/Haley years.

I think every team failed to nail the draft when you don't use your last pick on La'el Collins.

How do you let a 1st round talent not get drafted, when he was not even a suspect? Even if he was not going to sign, which was a total bluff, you keep a division opponent from signing him if he was bluffing. That is more production than almost any of the seventh round picks will give their respective teams.

Had he been drafted, he would've simply sat out the year and entered the draft next year. it would be a wasted pick, and actually lower that team's chance of getting him.

Possibly. But I don't think so. He was bluffing. Even if he didn't how many of those 7th rounders are going to be cut in camp...95%. There is probably a better chance of Collins signing with a division foe vs the chance any team keeps there 7th round pick.


So you risk a 5% chance of hitting on a 2 year special team/role player vs. landing a 1st round talent with a 7th round pick.

Sign me up to gamble on this one.
