Well it didn't work for either band. I guess I don't understand why you wouldn't just stick with what got you where you were.

Guess I'd go with Peter Gabriel Shaking the Tree CD. Only cuz it's my least favorite CD, also T Rex the Slider maybe? I don't have anything I don't like.

I just scanned my iPhone and the recording that stood out to me as the first thing I'd remove is The Decemberists - Castaways and Cutouts.

Again I'm not defending the practice, just trying to explain what happens in my experience. Show me a band that has never changed even a little bit what they do as the market changes. There are a few but VERY few. More power to them when they make it work. AC/DC comes to mind... but even they changed to a degree.

If you heard the Cars 3rd album "Panorama" when it came out, it sounded like a piece of shit. But after I listened to it 30 times, things started to come through that made it interesting to listen to that were unintelligible on a few listens. The Cars were like that, they invented things that weren't what was expected, with a few exceptions that were pointed out earlier. They set the trends, they didn't follow them.

I don't own this album, but would pay big bucks for it. My favorite Jesus Ska Band Sonseed!
Check out the guitarist... he looks like he's in the English Beat! |

OK I found this in my collection. I do indeed own some truly shitty music.

If you're talking about my Georgio post you did yourself a big favor. I didn't remember having that. I hope to GOD I didn't spend money on it but I probably did.

I know, I know... not to you because you're taste in music is too pure to like anything other than what a bands first couple albums were about...
