Put me down for a roasting or a toasting, i'll stand by either one... Poe looked like an absolute WORLD KILLER tonight in his few reps, he's surely still learning the ins and outs, but his raw skill is starting to be tempered by understanding.
By week 8, the wagging tongues of ESPN wont be able to shut up about him... give the devil his due, when pioli saw those measurables that were off the charts he didnt hesitate... you just cant school that kind of ability no matter how raw. Just like with Bray, you cannot teach pure ability or desire... this kid went out and gave in, no more bbq... just football. 1+1= 2... this kid is a HOSS. |

I think Powe got some penetration too, but maybe not - my attention had already started to wane by the point he was on the field.

Rewatching now and Poe made two awesome plays on the first series.
Snap 1 - gets off a block, scrapes down the line and makes the tackle for a 1.5 yard gain. Snap 2 - INSTANT penetration and basically forces a sack (horrible call by the refs). Not sure if he played more than one series. He's out on the 2nd. Hali looked really good also IMO. You can see him beating that block easily in the 2nd GIF.

That's not just any center BTW. That's Brian De La Puente.
Last year he gave up 2 sacks and 10 pressures for the entire season. Poe FTMFW.

He's definitely not afraid to blast through guys on his way to the ball, with his size that trait alone is worth good money. |

I still don't understand why that wasn't grounding by Brees. The closest eligible receiver was Sproles and the "pass" clearly wasn't going in his direction. He just dumped the ball at the feet of his right tackle.
