II is like a white trash boogie nights, the Rocky having established himself and gotten a little coin in his pocket. III is total 80s kisch, fun, but not deep or overly important. IV is back to basics with a pinch of America **** Yeah. Great is you dig on unconventional workout porn [ie, lots of log splitting and boulder dragging] and victory over stoic Goliath bad guys. V I barely remember, except that the son and Tommy were not stellar actors. Balboa I haven't seen.

OK. To be fair - I own them all. I stand by my assessment that Rocky is truly an outstanding film. It's special. Rocky II is very, very good, and that the rest go downhill.
That said, if Rocky III or Rocky IV show up on TV (uncut, no commercials), I'm watching them. They're not great films, but they are good, solid entertainment, and definitely worth watching, at least once. I'd skip Rocky V and Rocky Balboa. I'd encourage you to have a Rocky marathon. |

Watched "Dear Zachary" on Netflix Instant. Had no idea what it was about going into it.. sort of put it on impulsively.
THANK GOD I was alone, because I sobbed all over myself. Most heart-wrenching bit of cinema ever filmed. |

Rocky Balboa wasnt great but he gives a very good speech towards the end of the movie when his son asks him not to fight.
