1) Tennant is my favorite Dr. I thought his was the most fleshed out, mature, and developed. I doubt I'll ever really care for Smith's "George McFly" Dr. 2) What the **** is it about the Brits that they never seem to fail in these big eps? Managed to pecker around with time in about 20 different ways and no huge detracting inconsistencies. 3) I really liked seeing my favorite Doc from the original series at the end (in the museum.) He was the one I remember watching as a kid. His Doctor and the original Twilight Zone were what got me interested in sci-fi...

A coincidence that the actor that played him in the Five Doctors died shortly after that role. I would like to see Bradley team up with Capaldi.

Don't know if this is another in the long line of "Moffat lies", but the latest rumor is that The Doctor has used all of his regenerations.

The Hurt War Doctor and the extra regeneration used by Tennant mean that Matt Smith was the 13th and final regeneration. IMO its bull, simply Moffat wanting to put that line to bed. The McGann-Hurt regeneration was not used with the Doctor's regeneration energy. I would also argue that the Troughton-Pertwee regeneration should not count either. Moffat is not going to re-number the Doctors. He considers it irrelevant. Officially Smith is still 11 and Capaldi will be 12. I'm not going to count Hurt since it would ruin my Dr. Who calendars and clocks. Still looking forward to the next episode on the 25th of Capaldi at McCoy PM.

Doctor Who 'regeneration riddle will be solved during Christmas special' as Matt Smith is revealed as 13th and 'LAST' Time Lord
By DAILY MAIL REPORTER Doctor Who fans have wondered for years if the sci-fi drama would have to come to an end due to the 12 regeneration rule. However executive producer Stephen Moffat, who announced that Matt Smith is the '13th Doctor', has suggested the riddle will be solved on Christmas Day, reports the Daily Mirror. He told the newspaper: 'The 12 regenerations limit is a central part of Doctor Who mythology. So if the Doctor can never change again, what's Peter Capaldi doing in the Christmas special?' The writers have left viewers guessing after all 12 Doctors lined up during Saturday night's 50th anniversary special, including John Hurt who was not previously counted. With David Tennant's Time Lord needing an extra regeneration to save himself during an earlier episode, the character's 12 lives all appear to be used up. A show source explained to the Daily Mirror: 'The riddle of the regeneration problem, something fans have talked about for decades, will be faced head on at Christmas.' Adding: 'There is going to be another huge cliffhanger and somehow Peter Capaldi has to join and the series has to continue.' The Thick Of It star, Capaldi, is thought to be joining the show at Christmas, while a glimpse of him was seen for the first time at the weekend. He was announced as the next Doctor in August after much speculation, and the next festive episode is said to be a shocking one, according to the source. Viewers clearly aren't tired of the strange, and often confusing goings on in the show, as an impressive 10.2 million fanatics were fixed to TV screens at the weekend. The programme went head-to-head with the ITV's The X Factor, which saw its audience figures dip, only managing to attract 7.7 million viewers - one of the lowest audiences for the show in recent years. Doctor Who's impressive audience was the biggest overnight ratings since the programme was rebooted by the BBC in 2005. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...Time-Lord.html

Can't wait to see how Moffat explains the whole regeneration thing since he now says Smith is the 13th.

He's said a number of times over the last several months that there's never really been a regeneration issue. And the beauty of a show like this is that they can retcon anything they want anytime they want.

But he has also said the the 12 regeneration limit was important and that he would adhere to it. Moffat lies.

I think the doctor dies and doesn't after 12.. Basically what I am saying is once the doctor dies for the the 13th regeneration it is a new doctor in the sense he does not remember anything previously. He will be completely clueless in the sense he does not remember past enemies or companions.
It will allow them to reboot him for another 12.. In doing this, if he does come across past companions he will have no idea about them, and they can clue him in on his past that he is trying to remember. |
