Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

I saw CCI standard velocity at our Walmart for the first time in a couple years and bought a couple boxes. Bwana, you oughta have a big jug of Unique, a brick of primers, and a set of dies on the shelf just in case. You can set up bare bones to reload for a couple hundred bucks and it can be real handy. Of course you can spend thousands on reloading but don't have to.

First time in a year I found .22 on the shelf for realistic pricing. Maybe things are coming around a little on that front. It was Federal 550 round box for $26. Fair.
Lately I've picked up a few new toys. Beretta Outlander 300 12ga. Ruger Ranch Rifle .223 CZ 512 .22 mag semi auto 2 scope upgrades and my latest, my new pocket pal I have named "Jackie Robinson". Any guesses why? |

Question for the planateer gun crowd. I'm about to inherit a norinco 1911 from the early 80s I believe. It's never been shot and was given to my grandfather by a friend in the late 80s. He said shoot the hell out of it. But it could it be any sort of collectors/value able down the road? I don't want to **** up a potential hand me down for my son.

Norinco is a Chinese manufacturer that has put out some decent stuff for the money they charge, which is pretty cheap. But as far as I know, nothing they have made is worth sitting on a shelf to just look at. |

A lot of outdoor ranges do not allow steel-coated rounds either. Any place you go where they first ask to test a round with a magnet will tell you that the round is not allowed at their range. Reason: backstops at indoor ranges may not be spec'd to handle (stop) harder materials (e.g. steel vs copper); outdoor ranges don't like them because they spark when hitting rocks (fire hazard).
Wolf ammo is garbage. Don't put it in an AR. In an AK, sure.
