The Twins are in for a fun lil 3 games wouldn't you say?


My first game thread and the way things are going, I like the Royals odds this game.


Interesting fact for this game: Duffy is 3-0 with a 1.35 ERA in four career games at Target Field. Duffy has no explanation for his success there. "Just a coincidence, I'm guessing," he said. "I do like the park. It's really nice." This will be the first time Duffy will start in a team's home opener. "I just got to take the pill and throw it and keep it rolling for us," he said.

What did St. Louis need at the trade deadline last year?

Starting pitching and a guy who could consistently close ball games.

You realize that, right?

Billy Beane went for it last year. He traded his prized prospect (Russell) for 1/2 season of Jeff Samardzija. If that was the going rate for 1/2 season of a #2 pitcher ... why not try for Taveras like I suggested?

I like how PB is condemning those for suggesting we trade Shields since it would have nixed "the most important season in recent Royals history!" yet he projected us to win 80 games last year, constantly ragged on all of our players, and refuses to produce any posts where he suggested we'd be "crazy" for selling at the trade deadline and that we should go for that playoff berth!

Still waiting, PB. Just show me one post, big guy. That's all I ask. One. One post where you blasted people for wanting to trade Shields at the trade deadline because we were only 3.5 games out. Just one big bear!

You can try and redirect all you want, but nothing can change the fact you gave up on the Royals in July and wanted to punt. When you can own that, we can move on.
