I am not arguing Ryan is not a great QB, I am just arguing the same excuses made for Ryan cant be Alex Smith's weaknesses.

I know Ryan is better than Smith, I also believe while Ryan is top 6 to 7ish range you can win a SB with a 12-13 range guy.

Which is what I believe is going to be Smith's range which will be partially aided by our running game for sure.

When I say ranked I mean in efficiency and wins, TD: INT etc...not just yards.

Alex Smith hasn't been in a pass first, early and often offense like he's going to be this year and next, and been as successful and efficient as he's been the last 2 years.

Maybe he's turned a corner and can be though (I hope he can be), but up to this point his most successful times as a QB in the NFL have been on a run first power offense.

I'm interested to see some preseason games and see how things go.

Personally, I've blamed that loss on Pete Carroll for flying his team in on Saturday instead of Thursday. They didn't get hot until the second half and were tired from the 5+ hour flight the day before. But that's neither here nor there because what's done is done.

But in 2013? I see Atlanta, at best, as the fourth best team in the NFC behind SF, Seattle and Green Bay. I expect that Chicago, NY, Washington, New Orleans (with the return of Mickey and Payton) and Dallas to be improved, so they're certainly no shoe-in next year.

Atlanta's playoff games? 30-24 LOSS, none, 48-21 LOSS, 24-2 LOSS, 30-28 Win, 24-28 LOSS.

So, Matt Ryan is elite, eh? Yet he lost by 34, lost by 28, lost by 22, won by 2 and lost by 4.

Kinda makes you think that if he gone to the Dolphins, his career under Tony Sparano would have been much better.

There were a few other quotes that you said that, but this was the best one.

Anything else I "made up" that you want me quote?

You know what?

I've supported all three statements I've made with quotes...I'm DONE wasting my time showing that you actually say what I've said you did.

Welp, Dane has been destroyed.

They'll have to use ancient Sith techniques to infuse a clone body with his dark side life energy now, or he'll remain trapped in the ether forever.

Hey Dane, answer me just once...

Is Chad Pennington circa 2008 better than Matt Ryan circa 2008-2012?

Matt Ryan is not elite. Neither is Alex Smith.

Each have won a single playoff game in their careers, although Ryan has had the benefit of better skill players and coaching.

So yeah, I guess I did say that and believe it.

It's funny because Flacco, prior to this last off-season, was also criminally underrated on this board. Hell, I would gladly give two first-round picks to acquire him, too.

And Matt Ryan is a better QB. Not really close, either. And Ryan definitively makes that team better. He is the key cog.
