Geno Smith vs Alex Smith - It's on.

It's on now. Geno Smith is probably going to be starting for the Jets this season.

Alex Smith will be the Chiefs QB for the forseeable future. If he's a success, we'll probably get five good years out of him.

So who's gonna win more NFL games over that time period?

Put your ten pounders on the table and make a vote

Alex: 11 wins
Geno: 8 wins

Geno supporters are proud of his 12 passing touchdowns and 21 interceptions while throwing for about 190 yards per game.

Not true progressions. It's one read. They didn't have a true playbook. Glennon Philip rivers were running full pay books and full NFL terminology. They also didn't lead the nation in screen passes.

Geno had a normal rookie year. So what? He did nothing to say that he's horrible and can't get better and he did nothing to make you say WOW. He had some ups but he had some downs that were just as bad as his ups. I will never understand the love that he gets from these guys. He went to a 6 win team and they went to a 8 win team ok good start. But nothing to make you say wow about.

Lets put some of this BS i here to rest shall we Geno wins against the pats and saints.
1st Geno got a lot of help from his teamates that these people seem to think don't belong in the NFL to beat the pats an INT return for a td (strange that makes any Chiefs win inspite of the QB) And lets look at the game winning OT drive to see just how much Geno did.

1st and 10 at NYJ 20 C.Ivory up the middle to NYJ 24 for 4 yards (B.Spikes).
2nd and 6 at NYJ 24 (Shotgun) G.Smith pass short right to D.Nelson to NYJ 36 for 12 yards (L.Ryan).
1st and 10 at NYJ 36 C.Ivory right tackle to NYJ 42 for 6 yards (J.Vellano).
2nd and 4 at NYJ 42 (Shotgun) T.Bohanon right guard to NYJ 45 for 3 yards (R.Ninkovich).
3rd and 1 at NYJ 45 (Shotgun) C.Ivory left tackle to NYJ 48 for 3 yards (Cha.Jones).
1st and 10 at NYJ 48 C.Ivory right end to NE 44 for 8 yards (D.McCourty).
2nd and 2 at NE 44 (Shotgun) C.Ivory right guard to NE 41 for 3 yards (J.Collins).
1st and 10 at NE 41 C.Ivory right tackle to NE 40 for 1 yard (R.Ninkovich; J.Collins).
2nd and 9 at NE 40 T.Bohanon up the middle to NE 36 for 4 yards (J.Collins).
3rd and 5 at NE 36 (Shotgun) C.Ivory up the middle to NE 38 for -2 yards (Cha.Jones).
4th and 7 at NE 38 N.Folk 56 yard field goal is No Good, Wide Left, Center-T.Purdum, Holder-R.Quigley. PENALTY on NE-Chr. Jones, Unsportsmanlike Conduct, 15 yards, enforced at NE 38 - No Play.
1st and 10 at NE 23 C.Ivory up the middle to NE 21 for 2 yards (S.Gregory).
2nd and 8 at NE 21 C.Ivory right end to NE 23 for -2 yards (B.Spikes).
3rd and 10 at NE 23 G.Smith up the middle to NE 24 for -1 yards (M.Forston).
4th and 11 at NE 24 N.Folk 42 yard field goal is GOOD, Center-T.Purdum, Holder-R.Quigley.

1 12 yard pass WOW PUT HIM IN THE HALL OF FAME NOW the rest is that no talent Chris Ivory.

Lets move to the Saints game. 1st off Matt Cassel beat the Saints last year just let that soak in. But that was a different team. Lets look at the GREAT Geno smith day against the Saints

8/19 115 yards passing 6 rushes for 18 yards 1 td how is he not in the hall of fame?

Geno was a normal rookie that's all this love people have for him is just insane

Geno is a "junk" QB. I saw it on the Interwebs.

Actually, Brady and Manning aren't athletic, either.

I don't care about Glennon, but being unathletic doesn't mean you cannot play the position at a high level.

No, it isn't.

Several AirRaid teams have true playbooks, especially those from the Leach tree.

Sorter. I respect the hell out of you. But, I have tried really hard to just get you to let this go. So, here. I don't need an apology, or anything like that, lets just leave it be.

(On the difficulty of picking up the NFL offense)
"In the beginning, it was kind of different, just because at West Virginia, I did all signals, and now they're just heard. It was kind of hard, but I'm definitely getting it. It's slowing down for me a little bit, so I'm definitely getting it."

Here is another article dedicated soley to Geno Smith, and the seldom use of a playbook.

But please. Try to upstage me some more. I appreciate it. Instead of using facts to back this up, you keep trying to make me look like im making something up.

Something, I don't normally do.

So, truce? Moving on?

Holgorsen took Leach's ideas with him to the University of Houston under another Air-Raid disciple, Kevin Sumlin. There, he further streamlined the playbook to about 12 plays, while increasing the emphasis on motion, misdirection and the running game.
Quote:
As mentioned before, the playbook was cut down to about 12 pass concepts, which Holgorsen says he can install in three days of training camp. He eschews the horizontal stretches that Leach and other Air-Raid guys favor, most notably "Mesh," and focuses on the more vertical ones like
http://www.andthevalleyshook.com/201...-west-virginia

They have a playbook. Holgorsen's AirRaid runs concepts like Levels, 3/4 verts, Mesh, Y-Corner, and snag, that aren't "1 read plays".

So essentially, when I say that Rivers, and Glennon ran full pro style playbooks, and Geno didn't. That makes me right?

And, when you say they have a playbook, even if it is as thin as a Walmart shopping flyer with 12 concepts that makes you right, so we are both right in a way.

All really I was trying to say was that Geno Smiths learning curve at the NFL level is a hell of a lot higher than someone like Glennon, or Rivers.

Can we just move along lol. I feel like we both proved our points.
