****Official PC vs Console thread****

Well, with the way some threads get going in here, and not wanting to poop in other peoples threads, I figured this is a good way to pass some time.

I wouldn't be mad if a mod went through the last PC V Console posts in the next gen thread and moved them over

I'll start -

I would like to point out the above image that currently the revenue for consoles is currently higher. This is because console games, on average, are nearly twice the price of PC titles.

DISCUSS

edit: I would like to bring conversation in other threads to this thread as they appear, to avoid hijacking legit console or other media threads~

I guess aesthetics could be opinion, but your post comes off as here are some wrongs facts from 2003 that show why pc gaming sucks. Hence my comment.

Consoles certainly have their place. Hell, I have a Wii U that I use just as much as steam. If your friends all have a ps4 then yeah, get one. All my friends have full time jobs and kids. Rarely have time to game online with me. YMMV. I needed a media center and some sort of gaming console, so it was 2 birds one stone to get a pc.

Maybe when a ps4 drops to $200 or gets uncharted. Right now it would be dumb to buy a whole new console for $350 when i can get the same game better and cheaper on pc.

if you are referring ton online play, then yes it is impossible. I never played online though.

I would consider PC again when these great console games start getting PC love but I just don't see that happening anytime soon.

Just curious, what games do you consider to be reasons to purchase a console that have been released already on ps4 and xbone?

Everything for these consoles I have seen that have been "console buyers" either release with a meh or havnt been released yet.

I'm not just referring to PS4. There were a TON of great games on PS3 that would never be on PC. Hell, Destiny isn't on PC and it should be. I love the PS3 exclusives so that is a huge part of the problem for me. I don't see that changing with the PS4.

As I said earlier, I don't do PvP so it isn't an issue.

Yeah, i wasnt big in FPS pvp myself, but for some reason lately i been enjoying certain games that have PVP aspect such as Planetside 2 (which will be free on the PS4 soonish) and H1Z1's battle Royale. They are just fun for me right now, but im not to big on the call of duty games, thats more my nephew when my steam account is on playing it.

I like the action adventure games myself.

Oh, Guru. I would rather have needles stuck in my balls than play HL2 with a controller.

As I have said time and time again, nothing is stopping you from playing in your living room. Nothing. You plug the PC into your TV, and play with a controller from your couch.

Same thing you do with a console except no bad console stuff.

Hell... I stream Steam to my old Mac connected to my TV. All the power of my main PC on a shitty little Linux box connected to the TV. I might even go get a raspberry for the bedroom and do the same thing.

Have you ever tried to play a fps without aim assist with a controller?

PCs are designed for m/k, not a controller.

Wireless keyboard and mouse allows me to play from my couch.

Here is my keyboard, paired with a wireless Logitech mouse (unified usb driver means just one usb slot is used). It's solar.
