We could really use an ILB. Will Heeney fall to us in the second round?

I've heard he's going to have a better career than Shane Ray. You've got to like a guy who knows he has no chance to win, doesn't care if he's drafted, and the last Linebacker we had who was incredibly reckless behind the wheel ended up being a great player.

He might but why would we draft him?

We already passed on Ray who was a top 10 talent.

Might as well pass on Heeney too. Shoot, maybe the Broncos will get him.

We passed on an OLB because it's easily the deepest position on our roster. We are woefully inadequate at ILB. When you have a chance to draft a guy who is going to be better than a first rounder, don't you have to take him?

So the Broncos gave up their #28 overall pick plus their fifth round pick, plus their 2016 fifth round pick, plus Manny Ramirez for the right to draft Shane Ray.

This brings up an interesting question...

Will Ben Heeney be drafted before or after the fifth round pick this year that was packaged with the first round pick, next year's fifth rounder, and Manny? Is KU's best prospect in years more or less valuable than one of the tiny pieces used to move up in the draft to select Ray?

Hell, maybe the Lions will draft Benny with that pick.

The sad thing is that very few people care about this troubled kid's draft fortunes. Hell...according to him, even HE doesn't care.
