I never claimed the Broncos made a mistake by drafting him. That is your claim.

In general, I don't believe they are. That doesn't mean that their team can't inevitably hit on a good pick. Hell, Pioli was a terrible evaluator of talent when he was with the Chiefs. I'm pretty sure everyone here would agree with that. But he did make a couple REALLY damn good picks. Now whether that was him, his associates, luck of the draw? I'm not privy to that info.


But you can't honestly be arguing that a team that has poor talent evaluation will NEVER make a good pick in the draft, can you? That is just dumb.

Because a lot of guys have gone through this crap in college (dumb decisions early in their college career) and have turned out okay.

Most are smart enough not to get caught with the stuff 3 days before the draft. Shane Ray was not. He is paying the price in lost $$$$$$$. That is on him.


That still doesn't take away from the fact that the dude is a legit first round talent. Just needs to make better decisions going forward.
