Now, I will answer your question.

Do I think Shane Ray was a Top 10 talent? No, I don't.

Do I think the Broncos traded up unnecessarily for him when they could have waited a few picks later and got him with their pick? Hard to say for sure (not knowing what other teams were gonna do), but probably.

Are the Broncos good evaluators of talent? In general, no. I can't remember being very impressed with many of their drafts in recent years or FA signings (exceptions with Sanders and Manning, of course).

Would I have liked to see the Chiefs take Ray at #18? No. He doesn't fit our system and we don't need him.

Is he a good fit for the Broncos? Time will tell. He will get every opportunity to shine being on the opposite side of Von Miller. I think there's a good chance he posts double digit sacks his rookie season.

But we shall see . . . . .
So in the same answer you pretty much said the Broncos aren't good at drafting and signing FA's....

BUT, in this case they drafted a guy who will have double digit sacks in his rookie season.

Remarkable post.

I can see how you would have missed that. It's not like anyone would even know who he was if it weren't for Bambi...and even he never mentioned it when it happened...or when he got busted again.

You read well.

Is Shane Ray a first round talent? Yes. Did the Broncos reach a little by trading up for him when they probably could have had him a few picks later? Probably.

Are the Bronco's in general good evaluators of talent? IMO, no.

Was the Shane Ray pick a good pick for the Broncos? Kind of hard to tell before he ever steps foot on the field. I think it's a boom or bust pick for them.

It's not that hard. Pick a side. You're talking out of both sides of your mouth.

No you aren't.

You're nobody's enemy. You are just known as a liar. It's not because you have strong opinions, it's that you try to pass off untrue things as fact, as well as lacking the intelligence to carry an actual discussion (see: today's poll as "evidence" that the Broncos had the worst 1st round).

There's nothing wrong with saying, 'I don't know." it's far better than a flat out lie.

BOTTOM LINE Undersized inside linebacker with a big motor and willingness to take chances. Lacks the athleticism to recover from mistakes in the running game and is too tight to cover in space against the pass.
It's poster worthy if a Linebacker who can't tackle, can't defend the run, can't cover passes, can't rush the QB, and has had multiple legal issues involving substance abuse and violence gets drafted at all.

Seriously...that's a pretty good pitch in the recruiting trail. If you can tell a kid that he can play 46 games at Linebacker and get only 4.5 sacks and defend 5 passes in his entire career, lead the nation in missed tackles, get arrested for street racing while drunk, get into legal trouble again for fighting with bouncers, and still get drafted...you must be doing SOMETHING right.

Not sure what side you're wanting me to pick.

You don't think Shane Ray is a first round talent. I do. We disagree there.

You don't think the Bronco's in general are good evaluators of talent. Seconded. We agree there.

And, BTW, you're public enemy #1 here because you lie about things and then when you're called out on it you try and deflect or change the subject.

Honestly, you admitting you were wrong a few minutes ago in this thread is the first time I have seen that in the two years I have been posting here.

Help me out here though.

Shane Ray is a 1st round talent but the Broncos made a mistake by drafting him correct?

Because according to you they aren't good talent evaluators.
