Infante is just exhausting to watch. 2-1 count in the 9th and he squibs on right back to the pitcher. He is killing us

Tonight feels like the day after your Birthday. You realize you still have to clean the cat box and take out the trash...

There were several reasons we lost tonight. Collins obviously hurt us. We had some poor RISP at bats. And then even Duffy... he gave us 2 innings tonight. That's not good enough. Forced us to stretch the bullpen until it burned it us.

Yeah, I know. But grounding into a double play in THAT situation is unforgiveable. It was a sensational double play, but it was still a double play.

Especially not looking at a few pitches. None of the Chisox relievers could find home. Our hitters have the worst place discipline in baseball. They could have had at least four or five walks in the game with some patience. They kill me how many times they get themselves out. Hosmer, Salvey and Moose are all terrible at this. None of them walk, ever.

It's even bigger than the potential of a Seattle/Oakland tiebreaker. If the M's don't win tonight, Oakland has nothing to play for tomorrow and rests guys for Tuesday.

So obviously this one hurts. Huge missed chance, and low odds that Minnesota rises up AGAIN against Detroit.
Even so, we got something else good to go our way with the Oakland loss, guaranteeing the home game. Also, it appears that the Angels have benched all their starters so the Mariners have to be favored to win this game tonight...ensuring that the A's have to try hard again tomorrow. Question: Let's say the Tigers blow Minny out in the first 45 minutes of tomorrow's game. Do we still put Ventura in and go full throttle or do we make the switch and save him for a potential ALDS Game 1? |
