prayers to muamba and his family. that was heartbreaking to watch this morning.

I don't have a problem with the Red. The Jersey grabbing thing bothers me since you know the players have a ton of skill but they get clutched and grabbed all the time. I want to see artistic football damnit. Livestrong was very loud and the members section was rocking. Sweet flyover, the bathroom lines were manageable and it was a great night weather wise.

What a great home opener. The red was not what cost NE the game. Their defense was AWFUL. Their goalie actually played a rather stellar game. Espinoza alone could have had five goals and ended up with none. CJ proved he could have missed later in the game. Again, great play by the goalie.
The energy was AMASIN! The weather was perfect. Everything feels like it has picked up where last season left off. So very exciting.

the park was definitely rockin'! even with the revs feed on direct kick you could feel the crowd's passion.
memyself, agree the red didn't decide it and that the revs were fortunate not to lose by a much greater margin. that said, both players were arm checking, the ball was playing to the corner vs. towards the goal and it seemed a yellow was warranted in that situation...though i'm not complaining!

As far as the red goes...I wasn't very far from it and I remember when I saw it in person it seemed very fair...on video...not *quite* as much but I still think its a legit call.
I really think the refs have been quite good for the first two games of the year. |

one of the most fun games i've ever been to from any sport. Last year we only had 2 tickets for the season.. we got 4 this year so I took my brother-in-Law and my two oldest children... Had a ball, the atmosphere was amazing. The kids are now fighting over who gets to go to games

Sporting KC, Livestrong nominated for Sports Business Awards
Clearly not news to ANYONE who has been to a game or even remotely paid attention to the trajectory of this team. Still, it's nice to be noticed for something GOOD sports related in this town. It happens so rarely.
http://www.kansascity.com/2012/03/19...nominated.html Sporting KC, Livestrong nominated for Sports Business Awards Kansas City is getting a bit of national notoriety right now. On Monday, Sporting Kansas City and Livestrong Sporting Park were nominated for 2012 Sports Business Awards. Sporting are nominated as the 2012 Sports Team of the Year while Livestrong is nominated as 2012 Sports Facility of the Year. Sporting KC are the only MLS team nominated in both categories. Sporting Kansas City are up against the Boston Bruins (NHL), Dayton Dragons (Class A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds), Stewart-Haas Racing (NASCAR) and the Texas Rangers (MLB). Livestrong is nominated against Amway Center in Orlando, the Mercdes Benz Superdome in New Orleans and Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale, Ariz. The awards are presented by Street & Smith's SportsBusiness Journal and SportsBusiness Daily. The Sports Business Awards recognize excellence and outstanding achievement in the business of sports for the period from March 1, 2011 through February 29, 2012. Sports teams in the major and minor leagues and U.S. national teams, in leagues whose central offices are located in North America, were eligible. Sports facilities (new, renovated or established) in North America whose primary function is hosting and staging sports events were eligible. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony that will be held Wednesday, May 23, at the New York Marriott Marquis at Times Square.
