Why did the clock stop after the Williams catch?

Was there any explanation for this?

You are completely wrong here

A.R. 7.26 DOWN BY CONTACT/OR NOT—IN AIR COLLISION WITH OPPONENT
First-and-10 on A40. A2 and B3 both jump up at the B30 in a legal attempt to catch a pass and collide in midair: (a)
A2 controls the ball and immediately falls down at the B30. He gets up and runs to the B20; (b) they fall separately
after the collision, after which A2 controls the pass and falls to the ground. He gets up and runs to the B15; (c) they
fall to the ground without the ball, and the ball is lying on B3’s back (ball has not touched the ground). A2 reaches
over and takes the ball off B3’s back and runs to the B20.
Rulings:
(a) A’s ball, first-and-10 on B30. Down by contact.
(b) A’s ball, first-and-10 on B15. Legal advance.
(c) A’s ball, first-and-10 on B20. Legal advance

These are NFL approved rulings from their rule book

I’m okay with the flub but it should have been reviewed. They review every f**king thing under 2 min, this should have been a no-brainer.

These are some of the reasons I will always believe in the Vegas conspiracy. Spread was 5.5.

should have reviewed for OPI as well. It was a clear and obvious 2 handed push off which didn't allow Ward to jump and contest the pass...

To be fair one was the Honey Badger Interception but yes it seems the LA teams get away with delay of game/false start penalties a ton.

This has been going on all season across the NFL. Either the clock that they show on television is not synchronized with the clock on the field or the officials have just gotten worse over the last 30 years.

My eyes tell me the latter.

Refs ****ing suck. BUT our defenders need to learn to put two obvious hands on the guy just to make sure. They do this stuff a lot - barely touching guys down and just wandering away from the play.

It should not have. Refs ****ed us hard on that play, but the defense overcame it.

Huge officiating error that could've been game changing. The NFL needs to do something about the poor officiating.

the official sees the clock at 0 then looks at the ball, if it is snapped or being snapped then they call it. They were close all night, but the only true -01 was probably on the badgers pick... thank god they swallowed the whistle there.

Yeah I’m that case he should be dragging the guy away from the sideline.

To me, the fact that the NFL won't hire full time officials, even though the league makes billions of dollars each year, is a clue that the league has an interest in controlling the outcome of games. Not that the NFL couldn't control games with full time refs, but some of their built-in excuses would no longer work.

I also hate the fact that a majority (it seems like the majority) of the officials are in their late 50s or in their 60s.

I hope at some point the NFLPA puts their foot down and pressures the league for full time officials, and for said officials to be held accountable for bad calls.
