Zombo - OUT?

Frank Zombo - LB - Chiefs

ESPN's Adam Teicher expects the Chiefs to move on from OLB Frank Zombo.
With Tanoh Kpassagnon and second-rounder Breeland Speaks the Chiefs' top EDGE backups, Zombo isn't needed behind Justin Houston and Dee Ford. It should be an easy decision for the Chiefs to cut Zombo. Kansas City can save $1.2 million from Zombo's release.

While I like Sherman I don’t think he’ll be as needed with Mahomes. Pretty sure we’re one of the few teams left who still implement the FB.
How is one of the highest paid players on the team- who has only managed to stay healthy for 19 games the last two years with 45 combined tackles and 2 sacks underrated?

He hasn't made it through a full year since 2011. 5 million bucks is a risky move for a guy with very limited production and can't stay healthy. 2 sacks over the last two years is pitiful.

It won't be hard to put one of our young guys in there and get that kind of production.

And the real reason he was kept year after year IMHO. But Ford,Houston etc.... are fragile players and why we need serious backups that can actually play DE.

You mean the guy who retired during the summer and then later that same year (if memory serves) played for the Chargers?

What cornerback did the OLE move and got out of the way instead of making the tackle?

Hint, he got traded to a California team for a used jock strap.
