I agree. Cousins is the only really competition in the market.

plenty of blue chip guys on defense on that list. some nice LBers, Corners and Safeties. They should get 1 of each.

What about Rashaan Melvin from the Colts? Dude is 6'2" and his PFF rating last year was 85.7....good enough to be the #17 overall CB?

Dream off season would be: Sign Talib, Veteran guard, trade Smith for a first and have a guy like Payne slide to us

I think that Witzman was barely serviceable and wouldn't mind seeing a better option if Ehinger fails, but I'm not sure that spending big money on a left guard this off-season is the best idea. Also, Fulton was our best center last season. If the Chiefs decide to keep him, it will have to be at starter money. If that happens, Morse would likely be kicked out to left guard I would think. I would think that should fix our left guard problem.
If Morse cant stay healthy at C, why would he at LG?

Counting on him for 16 games seems like a bad bet at this point, and Ehinger was nothing special even when healthy... we need a proven, durable manster at LG

I wouldn't go that far, he didn't miss much time in his first two seasons. It seemed like he was in and out of the lineup this year, but I think it was all the same foot injury. He probably came back too soon.

Has Morse been really injury prone? I mean he's had a couple of concussions and then he got his foot injured this year. I'm not ready to label him injury prone just yet. He's still under a rookie contract. If we lose Fulton then he's our center again anyway. If we keep Fulton, then I think that it's a good gamble to try him against Ehinger for the LG spot. If Ehinger wins, then Morse is a very versatile backup.

Morse isn't a road grader and wouldn't be an upgrade to Ehinger or Witzmann because those guys suck in the ground game, too.

If the Chiefs want to upgrade their LG position (and it's badly needed), free agency is their only sure-fire option.

Spending a 2nd rounder on a LG, when there are so many needs on defense, would be a waste of draft capital.

Banking on a Day 3 guard to actually become an immediate upgrade is too risky.

Completely agree.

I'd love to have Landry but know we can't afford him.

We need to upgrade the D (another outside pass rusher, CB, and probably another ILB) and would prefer a vet G who won't get Mahomes killed like a rookie might...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Two concussions and a lingering foot injury in his first 3 years doesnt inspire my confidence in his durability, sorry man... Fulton has grown into the role of center much better IMO

Not only that, but I'm just sick of this lines lack of physicality and in many ways that all starts at center... Morse is a good, versatile, yet likely fragile technician ... which is why I prefer him as interior depth, he'll be fine in a 3-4 game pinch

We badly need a physical, do it all LG... Morse is unproven there in the pro ranks, and Ehinger maybe has an edge in pass pro vs Witzman who is maybe a bit better run blocker

Point being we just have a bunch of question marks and known weaknesses at LG... one guy is good at this, the other guy that

Lets just put a big hoss who can do it all in that spot, and stop trying to cover some other guys weakness
