The user slyfox75 makes a $60 kit that I've used on three 4.7's. The 4.0l V6 has the same problem. |

If the timing belt and water pump are being replaced (90k mile service interval), the frame has no rust (or has been replaced), buy it if it suits you. Rare to find a Gen 1 Tundra with low miles.
I had an '05 Limited, smooth, quiet, comfortable truck. '05 and newer got the VVt-i V8 and 5-spd auto. I replaced the steering rack bushings with polyurethane to clean up a little shimmy, slapped a Hellwig antisway bar on the rear. |

I purchased the truck. Took a long look underneath and couldn't find any leaks. Carfax checked out as well.
I bought an extended warranty on my Jeep. Apparently if you get rid of said vehicle you get your money back on the warranty. I got back $1900 on the warranty. Which was a nice surprise. I said no to any extra warranty on this Tundra. Borrowed $7400 and freed up nearly $14k in debt. Feels great. I'll try to pay it off within a year. |
