Toyota Tundra

Anyone drive a Toyota Tundra? I'm at looking at trading in my Jeep for an 06' Tundra crew cab. This particular one is 2wd with 94k miles. It is loaded and everything works. Much cheaper than my Wrangler. Which is what I'm most interested in.

Anyone know of any problems with these? My brother owns a couple but they are much newer models.

We have two Tundras in our family that were bought new.

2008 double cab 5.7/4wd, 105k miles, been rock solid. Only replaced maintence items (battery, brake pads, etc)

2015 crew max, 5.7/4wd, 30k on it, not a single issue.

They are solid trucks.

Absolutely any Toyota 4.7l V8 should have a SAIP bypass installed. Here's a good read on it http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-ge...important.html

The user slyfox75 makes a $60 kit that I've used on three 4.7's. The 4.0l V6 has the same problem.

If the timing belt and water pump are being replaced (90k mile service interval), the frame has no rust (or has been replaced), buy it if it suits you. Rare to find a Gen 1 Tundra with low miles.

I had an '05 Limited, smooth, quiet, comfortable truck. '05 and newer got the VVt-i V8 and 5-spd auto. I replaced the steering rack bushings with polyurethane to clean up a little shimmy, slapped a Hellwig antisway bar on the rear.

I purchased the truck. Took a long look underneath and couldn't find any leaks. Carfax checked out as well.

I bought an extended warranty on my Jeep. Apparently if you get rid of said vehicle you get your money back on the warranty. I got back $1900 on the warranty. Which was a nice surprise. I said no to any extra warranty on this Tundra.

Borrowed $7400 and freed up nearly $14k in debt. Feels great. I'll try to pay it off within a year.
