Life frickin dog question - Page 4

so, the son and his wife went to some kind of money managing class. they came up with a plan on how to get out of debt and build a new house(i'm 57 and never been out of debt). anyway, the main part of the plan is for them and the 3 grandkids to move in w/the wife and i. actually, no biggie...grandkids usually stay w/us every weekend, and we know they're going to get older and not want to come out as much. life.

so, they sell their house and move in w/us 2 weeks ago. everything seems to be working fine, except the 3 dogs they brought w/them. used to living in a fenced in yard and sleeping in the house. i've got 30 acres for them to run wherever they want, but they seem to be happiest laying on the wifes ****in patio furniture. holler, scream, shake a stupid can w/rocks in it(dumbest idea of all), to no avail. the wife went to town and bought some spray shit for $40 and sprayed it all over the furniture saturday. yesterday morning...yep, they're laying on the patio furniture. she sprayed it again, but i know they'll be back.

so...surely some of you guys/gals have experienced this before and have a solution besides antifreeze and/or bullets? they're pretty cool dogs, really, but the wife is driving me ****in nuts over this.

The first thing you need to do is set a dog walking schedule. You do not want to get into an argument over that..

I'm going to have to hope you go with the shock collar method sec.
My next step in my plan of dog phsycology involves the both of you pissing on the furniture in a display of dominance and I just don't want to see you nice folks have to do that

i know, ed...and i really don't care. like i said, they're great dogs and the grandkids are crazy about them. one golden retriever, one beagle and one half basset hound/blue healer(funniest looking dog i've ever seen).

wife grew up w/a wiener dog in the house(her moms). they'd let that damn thing eat out of their plates, etc. it would shit right in front of the kitchen sink, and piss in peoples shoes. it really turned her off on dogs. she doesn't hate them, but no way in the house, and the patio furniture is damn close to the house in her opinion.

when their house is built and they move out, i'm still going to be home w/her. she designed the house and was more involved in the building of it than i was.

i'm just trying to figure out a solution that makes everyone happy.

If there is a way to fence off around the area you don't want them in, that's what I did. It's a quick and easy fix to this problem.

Mama just chased em' off the porch with a broom....

I can't say anything though....I've probably got chicken shit on my porch right now, if they've finished F'ing up my mulch.

If you are spending money anyway, what about buying something for the dogs to sit/lay on and put it on the porch? But.....dogs being dogs, they will probably just pick the patio furniture and ignore the doggy beds.

Canned Air scares the hell out of them. After a few times the dogs won't go within 10 feet of the can.
