Ron Parker has surpassed my expectations. Now, early on some were arguing that Parker is as good as Berry or better, which i argued vehemently against as that was a completely silly take.
But i've grown to respect his game. Sure, he isn't the best tackler but i wouldn't list tackling as a weakness. If we're comparing his run support game against Berry's that not fair. But Parker is certainly an NFL starting caliber tackler.

Not sure what point you're trying to drive home. We ran out of 'backers and were forced to start Dirty Dan. And while Dirty Dan certainly has the heart, the man was being dragged several yards down field. It didn't work. Probably not the best example for you to use. The Dirty Dan example works against you, matter of fact.

Most people around here were down on Gaines because of his natural ability to get magically injured. And regarding Ehinger, was there a single person out there who said anything more than, "He's a rookie. Let's just see how he does." |

If Peppers is there at 27 ? He is ours. A multi-tool type of player for sure. You can't pass on a player like this that can play S,CB,LB,WR,Slot,RB, PR,KR if needed.

Jack of all trades master of none. I got the meh about Peppers. He is interesting for sure but I don't think he can play CB or WR effectively though.

Plugging a player into a variety of roles works in college; different story in the nfl... And I don't doubt Peppers will be a real difference maker for some team, but we have hybrids across our roster, many of whom take the responsibilties you've listed... |

Sorenson always seems to be around the ball. He's not real flashy, but steady. The knock on him not tackling seems to be when he was forced to play ILB. I'd like to keep him and Santos. Wilson can go.

Also, has Santos ever blown a game for us with a missed kick? I don't think he has.
It'd be a very good idea to retain him. All the morons who say, "I just can't help it! I get nervous every time we kick a field goal" need to look at his percentages. He's doing his job. If your butt clenches whenever he lines up to kick, it's probably because your butt does that EVERY time we line up to kick. That's not Cairo's fault. |

So I guess it's just if you throw the 'original round' tender on them that you can't get any compensation. If you put a 2nd round tender, it doesn't appear to matter if they were a UDFA.
Good news w/r/t to any potential Mitchell defection in '18 if he plays well again in '17. It's a little more than I'd want to pay Sorenson given the depth of the S class in this year's draft, but Sorenson really was a johnny on the spot player for us and some guys just have a nose for the football. I suspect he'll be in the middle of several big plays for us again this year. I'd rather see some shit team overpay for him and give up a 2nd to do so, but that ain't happening. He's coming back.
