Time to accept what we already know.

The Kansas City Chiefs are a loser franchise. Over the years, there are countless people and decisions that have been blamed, but at the end of the day, it’s always the same: the Chiefs are losers. I’ve known this for some time now, but somehow, I keep letting myself get suckered in year after year. Shame on me.

I’m 40 years old. In my lifetime, I’ve seen 4 Chiefs postseason wins. 1 AFC championship game. 0 Super Bowl appearances. 0 Super Bowl wins. That’s pathetic, and the definition of a loser franchise. Few teams have a worse record of postseason success over that time. Yet, I keep letting myself think that maybe this is the season they prove me wrong. Shame on me.

Going into today’s game, I had no anticipation of a Chiefs win. They don’t win games like this. They don’t step up when it really matters. Yet, this was the year of so many unexpected, crazy wins. Deep within my heart, there was a glimmer of hope, that maybe this was a team of destiny. No surprise, I was crushed yet again. Shame on me.

The Chiefs are losers. I would bet everything that I have that they’ll not win a Super Bowl in my lifetime. Now that I live somewhere warm year round, I’ll no longer be staying inside on Sunday to watch - what’s the point? Sure, I’ll track the score from the beach, and maybe I’ll even drive up to LA to see a game every now and then, but my days of dedicating time and planning around this team are over. 40 years is enough time - I’ve had enough, and wasted enough. Shame on me.

Godspeed, Chiefs. It’s been a shitty ride. Shame on you.

But Dorsey has already missed on Carr and Prescott, so there aren't any guarantees even with Dorsey pulling the strings.

I think we'll break the Cubs 108 year championship drought. To not do so, we'd have to win a title before 2078. With Smith's and Houston's contracts, and with the Fisher extension, I don't see how we compete for a championship before 2080 or 81 at the earliest.

By the time the Chiefs win a championship, the playing field will be a big plexiglass dome and the players will have jet-packs on their backs and be flying around.
That's depressing. I think I have about 30 left. Time to move on I guess.

Don't feel bad.

At most I've got 20 and I've quit jobs and made bad decisions based on keeping my Sundays open.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Football is a tough game in which to get a franchise to SB's.

If the Broncos hiring of Vance goes the way of mCd I will always have SB50. Last year for your 1st play off win in over 25 years you got a Probowl hat to show for the effort. This year you get an AFC West Champ shirt, those are nice if you stay away from the Majestic brand and stick with Nike gear. Next year you will be back to the cellar of the AFC and probably looking for a new HC and the next best 49er Backup QB to run your new HC's system for you. That is unless you actually draft a QB and let them develop.

Must make it even sadder that reek had to watch fake gronk do all the abusing today. You better hope he stays on the straight and arrow and be less like Tammerick Vannover.

Here is to next year!

Actually, with the issues exposed in our linebacking corp with DJ, and other holes in our team, I think we are unlikely to have the luxury pick of a QB in the first couple rounds this year. Earlier, I thought we might.

Not to replace Alex Smith, but to groom under him for a time.

Now, I think we go LB or CB or RB or OL.

There is little doubt in my mind that there is an agenda behind certain calls at crucial points in games. The league will always do what it can to ensure marquee matchups and big market success.

For this reason you won't find me adopting the "woe is me" attitude about the franchise. The team just needs to get fired up by this and come out throwing haymakers next year.

I guess somebody has to dignify this with a response so that you don't cry, so I'll bite.

And to keep it on your level of maturity, I'll just say...Denver is far more likely to occupy the cellar than KC. Enjoy the SB that they handed to golden boy for his swan song. Ain't gonna happen for the nobody under center now.
