Broncos gifted another win by refs

Unbelievable that this was missed. He's clearly out.

Why? If your line can't push down a 200 pound guy with both feet off the ground you deserve to have the kick blocked.

Normally you will see an official at least attempt to trail the play....I haven't watched it well enough to catch whether or not an Official was actually in the same zip code as the returner.

But in the whole realm of "the refs like the Broncos" more this one doesn't crack my top 20.

I'm still bitter about the play some 20 years ago when Elway threw a game saving pass 2 strides past the line of scrimmage....or the play a year earlier when the Bronco lineman actually tackled Neil Smith as he was getting ready to lower the boom on Elway not 2 feet from the official and no penalty was called.

BTW....the pass went for a TD in both cases.

More like 12 or so. Full disclosure, realistically, Denver should be averaging 5 wins per since the 1984 season. That was the year it was decided at Bohemian Grove that the Denver Broncos were the NWO NFL team of the global elites. I know I seen it on the infowars.

Do you remember with the same ferocity the play where Dante Hall returned a punt for a TD with perhaps three blatant blocks in the back?

There's such a thing as recall bias.

The views that are on the videos from the CBS broadcast look inconclusive, because they are at angles to the sideline. It seems relatively easy to get views with more conclusive angles, simply by positioning cameras to look down the out-of-bound lines. Tennis does that. I don't know why the NFL does not. MLB has cameras rigged at many useful angles. It seems like the NFL should be able to come up with a standard set of views that could give them more conclusive evidence. They might consider doing that, because their current product is not as fun to watch and involves wasted time looking at suboptimal replay views.

To overturn a replay, one needs conclusive video evidence, which I do not see here. Still, one could have their own opinion about whether one thinks the ball carrier did step out and also about what would be fair. To me, there were only two steps that came close, and they were back to back, a right-foot then a left-foot (facing in the direction the ball-carrier is travelling). Of the two, the right step seemed to be the most likely to have gone out of bounds, which is unusual because that's the step further from the sideline in the usual course of running. Physically, it seems unlikely to have stepped out of bounds with the right foot and then be able to recover so that the left foot is not clearly out of bounds. Also, from the point of view of what's fair (in my own humble opinion), there wasn't any Saint player anywhere nearby to cause the runner to take the missteps he did. So, as far as I'm concerned, that's a touchdown. The Broncos deserve the win.

If that were a Chiefs player and the call on the field was that he did not step out, but the officials then reversed it, I would think that was unfair.

There's no place in this thread for rational thinking.

I'm a firm believer that the NFL could come up with a standard for the number of and location of cameras for all games. Each sideline, goal lines, end lines etc etc. You can't tell me with a straight face that there aren't enough cameras at some games to do that and if networks want other angles let them set up in addition.

You can tell you are a newbie because you have a REAL HARD time recognizing sarcasm....i was trying to make light of the non-call today and how little meaning it has in the history of the NFL.

But if you really want to go down that rabbit hole....Oh yes, I remember the Dante Hall return and the questionable blocks. Heck you won't get an argument out of me that it never should have happened.

But if you really want to chat about how the NFL gave the Elway the same benefit of the doubt that the NBA gave to Michael Jordan and his 3 step drive to the basket, we can.

Elway was the only guy who could make the refs believe that the crowd was so loud he couldn't concentrate and get a penalty called on the home crowd, when all day long the crowd had been at the same fever pitch. The same John Elway that could get away with a movement of his head and body to draw opponents offside that most other QB's would be flagged for....

Don't get me wrong....Elway was a great QB, but no differently than Nolan Ryan got the corner of the plate that most guys never got from the umpires, Elway got the benefit of the doubt always.
